Right, so, a couple of hours ago I was on Youtube and my monitor just kind of exploded. Loud bang, stopped working, smell of burning, etc. I'm temporarily using my Mum's monitor now. Anyway, starting up the computer again, Steam just won't open. Here is the message I get...

"Steam.exe (main exception): CMultiFieldBlob(pSerialized): Partial field header at end of record"

No idea what the hell that means. Any help would be appreciated, guys!

With the wonders of Google, I present you this [http://forums.filefront.com/hl2-problems-errors-help/304915-steam-problem-please-help.html]!

Hope it helps :D

I hate getting weird errors which doesn't make sense.

Go into C:/Program files/Steam (or possibly Valve/steam, mine is just /steam though) and delete clientregistry.blob
It will rebuild itself upon Steam's start again.

Start up Steam, and it should work.

I just googled that error and this was literally the very first result.

Ahhh, thanks, I'm sorry. Kinda panicked cause the whole monitor thing scared the shit out of me as it was. :p

EDIT: And, ummm...after I couldn't log onto the Steam forums for whatever reason, you guys were my next choice...so be happy for that at least, even if I forgot about Google. <3
