Yeah the government has definitely accidentally set some zombies loose.

Even though a zombie apocalypse is probably never going to happen, its nice to know that the government cares enough to offer advice.

It was posted by the CDC to use humor to get people to read emergency preparation documentation for hurricane season which is starting very soon.

I've had at least 4 or 5 friends send this to me and another few people on FB post it on my wall so I think the CDC has done a great job. Seems a government department got away from the typical model of being boring as hell and instead being clever to make a point. I would bet anyone that the zombie apocalypse page has been read so many more times than the actual hurricane safety page so it has accomplished it's mission.

But will it actually cause people to get prepared for hurricane emergencies? We'll have to wait and see but I would wager it has in some small way.

Well better to be safe than sorry I suppose. They probably took their natural disaster plan and changed it a bit.

I wish the Australian government was intelligent enough to create this sort of awareness. No they would probably deem zombies offensive and ban it.
