I have recently started practicing vegetarianism. I still eat fish but will not eat any other type of meat due to them being raised to die. I would like to know if anyone has any advice for me or any warnings that my lifestyle of not eating much meat could have on me.

why do you eat fish? Honestly, the fish you eat probably came from fish farms, therefor raised to die. Even that point is a little contrived isnt it? Sorry dont mean to question your choices i just dont understand that part of vegetarians.
Eating fish is not part of vegetarianism.

not to question your admirable choice, but aren't a lot of fish just raised to die?

Anyway, if you can get enough proteins, from beans, pulses and other things like that then you won't have any problems, and if you like curries then about half of all Indians are veggies, so they have some really delicious recipes, good luck with your new dietary life!

I found out about that, so I only buy fish that are taken out of the ocean. It's a ***** to look for specialty brands though.

Does being raised to die really matter? If we all just hunted our meat, does that make it better? It would seem that a wild animal, trying desperately to live only to be one of our meals seems worse then an animal who was raised in the lap of luxury (comparatively) and killed after the prime of their life. Seems like a good deal.

Anyway, the biggest problem with this is that you won't get all of your proper nutrients. You'll have to look up online what exactly you should be taking, in pill form.

Vegetarianism is stupid in my eyes. Humans started to evolve when they began eating meat.

Yeah, you need the protein that animals provide in order to stay sane and prevent brain damage. Which is why I don't trust vegetarians or vegans, they be bat-shit crazy.

Don't worry about lacking protein with fish. They not only have decent amounts of protein but the good oils in the fish do a whole heap of other things. The only worry I'd have is iron.

I'm sorry but if you knew any vegetarians then you would know that they and the 500 million Indian vegetarians are completely sane!

I'm not sure of the reasons that led you to decide to become a vegetarian, but my only thought is make sure you're food choices are varied, full of a good balance of vitamins, minerals, protein, all that good stuff. Don't just assume, as many do, that because you don't eat "meat", (though fish counts as a meat for most people) that you will automatically be eating healthy. Watch what you eat, find out what each kind of food will contribute to your health.

Yea thats what ive heard, but many still eat fish. It just seems a bit strange to me.

It's because fish are ugly and cows are cute. Remember, the only reason people protested mass fishing of tuna is because dolphins were getting caught in the nets. Dolphins=cute, tuna=tasty

you're not a vegetarian, you are a pescetarian.
plus taking a wild animal and killing it is crueller than killing one raised to be killed.
vegetarianism is silly, and unnatural and unhealthy. if we were meant to be vegetarians we would still have a functioning appendix.
