My fellow escapists, the point of this thread is to warn you about the worst game to be unleashed in stores. Velvet Assassin. Yes the visuals look good but do not be fooled, it is the worst game to set foot on this earth. I bought it 2 days ago and sold it 2 minutes ago. Don't waste your money on this game unless you are sure you will like it. I am a huge fan of stealth games but this was such a slap in the face.
Crappy voice acting, crappy enemy AI, you move slower then a snail and there are so many glitches.
Its too late for me, but you can still avoid this plague.

i was debating on buying this killing floor or zeno clash but from all the bad talk of velvet asassin im going to listen this time. the last time i didnt listen i bought wanted:weapons of fate most buggy craptucalarly badly voiced game ever also its ultra sensitive for pc. move the mouse a milimetre youre guy is practically breakdancing

I saw a particularly harsh review, something about the stealth being broken quite badly, but I didn't care enough to follow it up, or note where it was coming from.

I've heard bad things about this game, however, I'm about 6 levels in and I've yet to see them...

The graphics are nice, voice acting is solid (and germans speak german instead of poorly accented english), the game's premise is interesting, stealth works fine, I've yet to encounter ANY bugs or glitches. The AI isn't very bright, but it does what it's supposed to. The ONLY complaint of any significance is the slightly sluggish controls (kinda like Dead Space in that regard), but nothing too bad. Overall, a fairly solid game and the first WW2 game I've enjoyed in a looooong time.

I am quite puzzled by people such as the OP who spit on the game so much, it's at the very least decent.

I gave it a try. It is by no means a game I would ever go from start to finish and play again, but it wasnt unbearably bad. I actually enjoyed it a little, despite its very clear and numerous flaws.

Maybe, but he provides no evidence for his opinion. An opinion is all well and good but I've heard nothing but good stuff so far about Velvet Assassin, and I'm looking forward to at least playing a demo or something. I can make up my own mind. Maybe if he did a proper review instead of just saying 'it sucks', I'd be more inclined to listen to him.

Maybe in your opinion, but I actually liked it. If you've read the books or seen the film then I value your opinion. If not, then please stop being a hater, it's immature and silly.
