So the forums looked a bit boring lately. I decided to change that. So here we go.

You've just been mortally wounded. The doctors can save your life but the only way to do that is to transport your brain into a video game. The catch is that you have to take over a character and that character has to be the opposite gender of what you already are because reasons.

So the question. What video game would you choose and what character in said video game would you choose to live as? For me the answer would be simple. Bayonetta hands down. She's one of the funnest video game fem fatals in a long time. Always in control of the situation, literally strong as hell with athletic abilities anyone would envy. Also I like British accents :p Plus who doesn't like the ability to use gun fu?

EDIT: Because I'm seeing this early it has to be an established character. i.e. No custom gender created characters like Skyrim but Fem shep from Mass Effect and the Pokemon trainers would count.

well I'd probably go for oblivion since I could conceivably live in the towns doing as I wish the female bit is a little odd though seeing as I can't really see the advantage of that. Male/female in oblivion doesn't really matter.

I give about an hour before they are set ablaze again >.>

Is it limited to games where you cannot choose the gender, or can you pick from RPGs?

If so, I'd go for the Exile from KoTOR 2(who is canonically female): always in control of the situation, and can grow in strength to a ridiculous degree(can become a Jedi Master or a Sith Lord). Not to mention great diplomacy and leadership skills.

Downsides being that I'd be constantly hunted by a mysterious Sith Sect with no clear purpose who may or may not have access to power beyond my comprehension, I am a walking wound in the force, and my mentor could be incredibly loyal or a kath hound for all I know. Oh yeah, and there's the PTSD.

Still worth it though.

Either die or live my life as a woman? die Yeah, I'll gladly do that.

For my game I shall choose... Skyrim. It's cold, so I like that. Skyrim also seems to be very female friendly too. Could just live in Solitude and do something. Nope. fuck this. Some guy posted a much better option which I shall be "borrowing". Guess I should credit Dead Century for this.

Put me in the pokemon world as a girl. Who needs to kill dragons when you can just train and battle with them?

The one that immediately springs to mind is my redhead, Paragon Femshep from Mass Effect. Saviour of the galaxy and what not is pretty cool, plus she has some killer squadmates and sweet dance moves :D

I think the reason most people are picking characters where you have either complete or some freedom over their appearance, behaviour etc is so that they still can keep some of their individual personality. I'm trying to think of set characters that I would like to be but I can't really think of one - even though there are tons of awesome female characters that I love. I don't want to forfeit all sense of personal identity.

Faith from Mirror's Edge springs to mind - to suddenly have the physical fitness and the practise of that level of parkour would be crazy awesome fun :)

Faith from Mirror's Edge, preferably during the "Blues and Runners don't really interact" time before the game starts.

I will become the Daedra Sheogorath (as seen in Oblivion), Lord of the Shivering Isles, Prince of Madness. What more reasonable choice is there? Cheese for everyone!

Just make me a Pokemon trainer in the Ruby and Sapphire remakes. Guy or gal, that would be pretty sweet.

Hrmm. Does it count if it's something characterised as female, but which isn't (technically) either sex? Something like GLaDOS, or the Pale Tree, or Jenova.

If not, I'll happily become a kickass Pokemon gym leader, like Sabrina or Clair. Alternatively, I could become Yunalesca, and get my giant Gorgon head to dispose of people I don't like.

It'd be cool to be War from Darksiders. Ride around on a horse, chop some demons down with a giant sword, chill with Death, and go on rampages in an awesome Chaos form? Sign me up for that biz.

Oh, argh, sniped. Okay, the only other possible choice is naturally Vivec. Praise me! Thank me for me!

Either Samus Aran(just don't make me go through Other M) or White the female Pokemon trainer in Black and White since Unova is my favorite region. Considering I just cosplayed as the male trainer yesterday, this has to be ironic in some way. >.>

Gaige from Borderlands 2. I could go around kicking ass all the time, with other Vault Hunters or just with my badass robot. If I die, I just pay a small fee to come back to life. If I get tired of fighting, I head back to Santuary and chill with everyone there. I see nothing wrong with this choice. Well, except maybe living on Pandora.

The issue I'm seeing with Bayonetta is that her main attraction is her attitude (well amongst her attractions...) and, as I'm understanding the rules, it's my brain that's going to be controlling her; so I'm not sure I'd be able to pull it off. Also have you seen the monsters in Bayonetta's world, no thanks...

I might go with Lara Croft; not the new young Lara who can't walk two steps without falling down a cliff (QTE), impaling herself on a wooden spike (QTE), have the spike break off, so she falls down another cliff (QTE) into a river and the is finally attacked by Cannibals. No the original Lara, preferably in one of the level that saw her move boxes around her own mansion.

Or possibly Chun-Li. For all the crazy stuff Bayonetta does, I'd still just like to travel everywhere using Spinning Bird Kick as my main method of locomotion.

I'd have to go with Jade from Beyond Good and Evil.
Got a Bo and a high-tech scanner/replicator (trek). Surrounded by awesome music (propaganda!) and helping to save orphans and world(s?).

Is it cheating to choose a character you created in a game? If not, then my Trainer in Pokemon Y. Everyone seems to like her, her Pokemon love her, she has a great outfit and hair, and she recently became League Champion. She is also rich now!

If so, then Makoto from Street Fighter. Incredible speed and skill, and if I ever miss being treated like a guy, I can just put on a shirt and no one will be the wiser.

I guess I'd be Mitsuru Kirijo from Persona 3 / P4 Arena. In addition to having Persona abilities and fencing skills, I'd be beautiful, intelligent, rich, and able to hang out with all the characters I love from Persona 3 / 4.

I would have chosen to be a girl in the Pokemon universe, but that had already been taken. I suppose, in a way, Shin Megami Tensei could be seen as sort of a darker Pokemon :p
