Video Game Inspired Music (Including Covers)

Greetings Escapists. With the release of Miracle of Sound's latest album I've been really getting into music either based on video games, or covers of video game tracks. I've spent a significant amount of time on YouTube listening to video game related songs. There are some seriously talented people out there, making some terrific songs based on the games that they love.

So I come to you today to ask you to share your favorite songs based on a video game. They can be covers, remixes or even original songs inspired by a particular game.

The other one I listen to would be Machinae Supremacy. They do more songs based on video games in general than specific games, but they're still excellent, and one of the few bands I listen to that I would recommend to anybody.

I found this a while back. I really love it. Especially when its used in Sonic tribute videos. During the solo at the end they play a clip (usually) of Sonic Generations with future Sonic saying "Your future is going to be great." I of course agree but I can't help but think of all the things that go through some peoples minds when he says that line. Anyway its a great song and I've been listening to it on repeat for some time now.

Something for the very very very old people might remember! Man they did make some amazing music back then. There is also an electric guitar cover that I also admire, but I have to repair my laptop to find that old bookmark!

OT: Oohhhhhhh, hands down to this song. My love for Dark Souls has gotten me to check out a few fan animations as well as guitar playing songs. But when I came across THIS- .... I had to have it. Like, I just had to. Best song i've heard made for the series by far.


Especially when you get near the end... if you know the lore and love Solaire as a grand buddy- you get emotional too.
I highly recommend you seeing their other works too!

That is a genuinely awesome song, agreed.

OT: It's hard to choose my favourite remixes/covers of songs, because there are so many. The ones that stick in my head the most, though, are

Uh... Basically anything that comes from The Adventures of Duane and Brando:

They are the main contributing factor to whenever I see someone play any of the games they've done a cover of, I start singing along to their lyrical rendition of said song...

And, as for Miracle of Sound, since I can't choose just one song from him... So, I'll just go with the first one I heard from him:

It's technically just a cover, but BOY is it awesome! Also everything 331erock does is amazing too. It's funny, I'm not a big fan of metal unless its a cover of some kind.

Favourite MoS? Hard to choose: Commander Shepard is always a classic. Sovengard song is amazing, but I also like Joker's Song, Shadows in the Moonlight, the Dead Don't Shuffle, Reclaimer, and the Crush. Don't ask me to choose between all those.
