Video games careers...

I have been on these forums for a while (reading mostly) and kept wondering: We're mostly all gamers on here, but how many of you escapists are actually working/planning to work in the gaming industry?

Conception/animation/testing/Voice acting/Music, anything to do with games really. i'm just curious is all.

As for myself, i am finishing studying 3D modeling/animation. As of now, modeling is what i lean toward the most and is what i want my name next to in the end credits of a game one day. i believe it's an absolutely awesome way to take in life, even though it makes playing games a constant session of criticism of every detail...

So anyway, that makes 1 of us, what about the rest? where are you headed with your career?

I'm doing a degree in computing computing which will hopefully get me a programming based job.

I actually went to the Audio Engineering Society Convention in NYC a few weeks ago, and there was a really cool lecture on sound design for games. I think that I may want to enter that field of work

I'm looking to take a programming or animation degree in the near future.

If all goes according to plan, I should be off to do a undergraduate course in Games Design and Production Management at the University of Abertay in Dundee late next year. I've wanted a career in the games industry for almost as long as I've been gaming (that is, since I was about four).

I'm majoring in computer programming, so I might try to get into the gaming industry.

I'm working on a computer science degree right now.
Hopefully, that will be enough to get me in.
If not, I'll probably try adding 3d design/animation to the mix and see if that helps.

I am planning to work in the gaming industry. It's my life's dream to actually own a developing company, and perhaps even to create a new console. I can't do it right now because I have no money and no programming or business education, but if things go my way, by the end, I will found/own a developing company.
