Video Games Live and epic music

So I saw Video Games Live last night (great concert, recommend it to anyone who appreciates games). The presentation was awesome but what struck me was how a lot of the music just felt epic. Thinking back on it I couldn't point out exactly what it was that gives a lot of the music that sense of epicness and I'm curious to hear from you guys. What games have epic music and what about the music makes it epic?

Shadow of the Colossus. It really makes the game feel like a heralding fight with a 20-story tall behemoth. Freakin' orchestras man.

I went a couple of years back, it was awesome. To be in the same room as the London Philharmonic Orchestra as they belted out the theme to MGS2 was truly unforgettable!
