I hopped into Vindictus thinking it would be a usual Nexon MMO. The first thing I was greeted with was something straight out of a source game; OH WAIT. It has the opening menu we all know and love from Counter Strike, Half-Life 2, TF2, etc.I first set out to change the graphics to run smoother, and unlike fifteen menus like in DFO, Maplestory, and even one of Nexon's better mmos, Mabinogi, there were five tabs, two blacked out. I hopped in expecting an mmo with the usual death animations, and what I got was a source game.

Enough about that, I created my character, you have two to choose from currently, A male character that dual wields swords, or a female character that uses a sword and shield. I chose the male character and I was thrust into a cinematic cutscene with fully voiced English. After the cutscene, you get into action. You can use ANYTHING as a weapon. Even a freaking human, seeing as one part of the intro is you escorting a female character to coax a spider guardian-thingie for the town. It attacks her and you hack and slash at it until your buddies start firing ballistas at it. so I grabbed a nearby ballista arrow, and thrust it into the spider.

The battle ends with the most blood you will probably see in the game. Thats a downside, all the gore was toned down from the korean version, at least that seems to have happened to me. Anyway, the fight ends with a huge bell falling on the spider, and the human you were protecting grieving over it. And them, the introduction starts. Oh, and I don't know if you'll see any more cinematic cutscenes though, as it then goes to typical mmo text boxes. Its still fun to smash a gnoll with a stone corpse of its buddy though.

I got to level 20 in the EAOB, there is only one sort of cinimatic cutscene afterwards but its hard to even call it that.
