So I stumbled scross this today:

Watched in mounting horror as the kid describes what happened, then near the end realised that it was a massive joke.

Yes I realise now there was a season and episode number near the top, and it was from "The Onion" - but at the time I just watched and assumed it was a news broadcast......

So, Escapists, what hoaxes have you fallen for? Even better what blindingly obvious hoaxes have you fallen for?

Come on, don't be shy!

I have never fallen for hoaxes.
I've been raised to treat everything with suspicion.

I can't remember the site but it was a guy talking about how the titanic was a conspiracy. After reading some of it I couldn't believe how stupid someone could be. Then I clicked on a link to a source and it sent me to the creator of "The Alphabet of Manliness." That is when I figured out it was a hoax.

Like any of you would admit it eh!

I don't usually fall for hoaxes, I'm generally a sceptic.......but it looked so real!

Or, I just caught the idiot ball for a minute there

Ages ago one april fool's day, my ICT teacher showed my class an article about the pasta plants being in trouble and asked us what was wrong with the article. No-one answered that pasta plants aren't real.

The letter 'N' rules all.

OT: This is the only one I ever fell for, but it's so breathtakingly obvious I still laugh at myself over it.

I remember following that up by telling a gullible friend that the reason people say that was 'cause some old versions of the dictionary really didn't have it in there. She believed me ^_^

I saw a documentary once that i thought was a hoax. It featured Keanu Reeves and Lawrence Fishburne and apparently its not a hoax, we all just live inside a big computer.
