Just got done with the first two episodes and I've enjoyed it so far, Javier's a good lead, Clem's reached full badass and The New Frontier seems like a fine misunderstanding. Have a feeling big brother let the power go completely to his head and that things are going to go to shit sharpish. Still looking forward to episode three.

By the way did anyone go along with the idea of selling Clem out? Because I shot that guy in a heartbeat.

So I've entered here despite the spoiler warning and learn that 2 episodes are out already? Damn, that's quick.

Without spoiling too much, do you know how much of Season 2's choices actually matter in this game? Cause I finished my Season 1 file not too long ago, and was going to start S2 sometime soon.

Wait wait wait wait...

There's a new telltale walking dead game that continues the story with Clem?
And it's already on its SECOND episode?

I don't know how this slipped past me but tis a pleasant surprise.

I didn't play it yet and maybe it's great, but I did catch the two flashback sequences that show what happened to Kenny and Jane... And let's just say it didn't inspire a lot of confidence in me for the rest of the story. But then Season 2 was a bit shit already.

Beyond that I've grown really tired of Telltale's clunky as fuck gameplay. I know these games aren't about the gameplay, but that doesn't make the way the gameplay is implemented any less ridgid. Meanwhile the gameplay in titles like Until Dawn and Life is Strange unobtrusively guides you through the story.

So I've delved a bit into the forums on the Telltale site and after reading some of the spoiler threads...This season sounds like it's going to be a big pile of steaming hot garbage.

For 1, the save bug that was, and still is, a part of the batman game is present here too. If you decide to "Restart" a chapter that isn't Chapter 1, the game will wipe and then randomize every choice you've made. This gets increasingly frustrating the more episodes there are because if you EVER feel like you want to correct a choice you made, your choices are to restart the ENTIRE GAME, or stop caring about the choices you made, because the game will never use them unless you are continuing a save file that you've never restarted. I had to play the batman game from episode 1 multiple times because of this retarded bug, and it's really soured me on Telltale as a whole.

The second thing, which is not nearly as bad as the first one, is that you are not Clementine in this season. So immediately, I don't care about anything. I didn't want to follow random new guy from bumfuck town, I, and many others, wanted to be Clementine and follow her through her Zombie lifestyle until it's inevitable end. But all we seem to get so far is controlling her in horribly done flashbacks that shit all over the ending of season 2.

I'm glad I convinced myself to actually wait a bit after the release of season 3, and I've decided I want nothing to do with it. Now, my TWD head-cannon is Clem and Jane ditch the stupid baby and go live a badass life doing what needs to be done to survive, and not what actually happened.

Can I guess? Did they die in just about the dumbest way possible? Let me make a prediction about the end of the season. Everyone but Clementine will be dead. If anyone isn't dead, then they'll be killed of in a ridiculous flashback sequence next season. When you've seen the entire case die of two or three times, it becomes difficult to care about anyone new. I think I'm happy to let this season pass (harhar). Maybe I'll watch a lets play if the super best friends do it.

Kenny certainly dies in the stupidest way possible, shy from an elephant dropping from the sky and crushing him. Jane was just like 'Eh whatever, I guess I'll just die now.'

To be fair, it nearly slipped past me and I've been waiting for this to release since they announced it was coming. I think they literally said a week before it was out "Oh yeah, here's the release date, 20th December." They also released episodes one and two at launch, as it's a two part episode, as it were.

OT: I loved the two episodes.

I'm kinda glad they didn't follow up the way they started with S2 when literally everything went to fuck all at once. Admittedly, yes, everything DID go to fuck here, but it was built up, not just lurching from one disaster into another really fast. The flashbacks are a neat touch, but I hope they don't rely on them too much to find out what was going on inbetween S2 and S3. I am curious to see what's going on between Clem and the New Frontier though. How did she piss them off enough to get on their bad side? What did she do? Is AJ with them?

Also on a side note, will Jesus end up doing some calibrations at some point?

That pissed me off.

After all I did to keep Kenny alive he dies in a stupid fucking car crash

Other than that I enjoyed the 2 episodes quite a bit.
