I got a big fat Amazon gift card for Christmas and was wanting to use some of it to pick up ME:A. Now, I've never gotten a game off of Amazon, and ME:A will be the first PC game I get that requires Origin. So I'm just wanting a bit more information on just how this works. I've gone ahead and downloaded Origin, and here's how I'm guessing it will work out. Can anyone confirm/correct this for me?

-Pre-Order off Amazon with the gift card.
-On launch day, I'll get an email with a code to download the game in Origin.
-Punch in the code and I'm good to go.

Does that sound about right?

I've never bought a day one digital game from Amazon but I've bought quite a few, older digital titles. It was interesting because I thought it would be a direct download from Amazon but they were just Steam keys. And cheaper than Steam, which was weird.

If there's no advantage to pre-ordering a digital game, I would wait.

Sorry, what I meant to say was just buy it on the day of release and download it. I wouldn't chance pre-ordering it for digital and expect to get an email saying your download is ready. I buy stuff from Amazon all the time, and I'm still paranoid like that.

It should say on the item how it will be delivered, and the estimated arrival date. Amazon is pretty good about being on-time or early, but I've never trusted preordering a game that will require shipping - so you'll want to look carefully at the details. My wife purchased Skyrim for me from Amazon, but it still took about a week for them to mail me the disc (which I really didn't need anyway because I just put the code in Steam anyway for it to register/install it). I supposed it saved some time on install?

Ah, here you go:

As far as the difference between instant access and the online code versions there, I couldn't tell you.

Thank you both for the input, I really appreciate it. Just wanted to make sure I had a good idea of how the process was going to work since I haven't ever gotten a digital game of Amazon before.
