i was wondering, if anyone else Believed a Large Scale 40k shooter would work or not

One as you play a Space Marine! It would be squad based like Star Wars:Republic Commando(think that was its name). But to spice things up you would start as the underdog and half way you would become Squad Leader! You would fight Orks, Eldar,Chaos,Tyranids,Tau and for giggles other Space Marines!
well What About the Idea behind working your way up the Space Marine Army Ladder, Starting out as a Scout, and working your Way up to Terminator?
Warhamer has never been so mutch about what weapon your using but rather what is in your army. However if they where to make an FPS based off it I think that it should be something like Deus-ex. that is, an fps-rpg. you would choose a race and class and join a squad going into battle as part of an army. So while you can have different weapon or armor, the biggest difference would come from what skills you have. So, one part Mass Effect, one part Americas Army, two parts Deus-Ex, and a dash of Painkillers "Murdering tons of dudes".
I think it would have worked better as a MMO myself.,In fact I wish they made a Warhammer 40K onlineline instead. that way it wouldn't have seemed so soulless and unoriginal, and might hold some interest to me.
Their isn't a good sci-fi themed MMO out, don't tell be why you like eve because i tryed it and your wrong. Warhammer is good for that because the established races and factions are already their. While I would rather see a Mass Effect MMO I think a Warhammer 40K MMO would have been interesting and unique. They could even bace it off, the Inquisitor game, that they made years back.

Well, a third person. But it's a shooter nonetheless. So far it doesn't seem to flow so well, but I just saw gameplay from the first build of the game. You play as a Space Marine and all that.

I think it would work if you did it in the vein of Tribes.
A handful of large maps, with cover and an array of different armies with different loadouts that can be changed in particular locations (like the drop pods or at an armory) would be keen.

You could possibly go the Dark Heresy angle and play as an Inquisitorial agent. Kind of an FPS RPG thing? With Inquisitorial authority you could have a bunch of Storm Troopers or 'requisitioned' regular Guardsmen to boss around, if needed. Or maybe a Mass Effect type-thing where you can pick a couple of henchmen for each mission.
I dunno, just throwing ideas around here. I should sleep...
