I do and as youve probably guessed from my profile picture I play tau because I love the battle suits and they are absolutely great for trolling with

While I am semi familiar with the universe I don't actually play.
A mate of mine has been asking me to start for a while now.

The main thing holding me back was money and time. I now have plenty of time. I also enjoy the Cain books so I might give it a try.

I too hate space marines.

Well, while I prever my spacemarines served for dinner, well boiled or roasted, we should be fair.

Everyone hates space marines. Just some more then others.
I think we can agree that Space Wolfes are less likely to be hated then Ultra Marines. I mean, how boring can you get?

They JUST came out with a new codex for them, not even a month yet IIRC.

Hello my diametrically opposed xenos player.

I play Space Marines (of the C:SM variety) while waiting for the Necron Codex to get redone into something vaguely competitive.

I hate the Tau more than I can express. The horrid, self-righteous, commie, rail-cannon-spamming reptiles. Also, my local Tau player is our best player (luckily he's playing C:SM at the moment, so it's not so one-sided any more), both at painting and at whooping bum from 72" away with a Str10 AP1 tank-murderer.

The Forgeworld battlesuits are awesome, the Games Workshop ones, not so much.

From what I know The Eldar are my favorite race. I'm a sucker for high tech stuff.

I read novels, play the PC games, but I've never gotten into that style of wargame.

I read the books, read the codexs, read Lexicanum, chat about it in the user group here [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Warhammer-Fantasy-40K-Followers] , obseesively play the video games and occasionally paint models but it's been a long, long time since I actually played.

I'm pro-Chaos by the way in case the Khorne runes in my avatar didn't clue you in.

I don't hate Space Marines, the poor fools are just misguided, they will see the true power in time.

After all that, being boring doesn't seem so bad, though with plenty of other good choices in the C:SM book, why pick them?

That said, the Ultramarines in the fluff make my blood boil. When my army goes down on table, people say "Oh, hey, they're blue, so you're Ultramarines, right?", and usually get glared at.

Do you see the "U" anywhere on the armour? No, didn't think so, not Ultramarines.

(Usually this is the point they start giggling because I'm playing C:SM in a competitive environment.)
