But its not what you think really! She was trying to stop the intruder that escaped out the window of their child's room. The one with the child lock on it.

A Washington woman is behind bars after allegedly attempting to behead her sleeping husband with a reciprocating saw.

When officers with the Everett police arrived at the couple's home on Friday night, they found blood on the carpet and walls and a bloody man who was shouting "it was you, it was you" at his wife, according to a police document obtained by KIRO TV.

"You tried to cut my head off, you're going to jail," the man screamed, the affidavit notes.

The 36-year-old victim reportedly told police that he awoke to find his wife cutting his throat with a Sawzall -- a power tool that can cut through wood, plastic and even metal, if outfitted with the right blade.

The man, who sustained cuts to his neck and upper shoulder, also told investigators that his 43-year-old wife attacked him with a hatchet.

The suspect admits using the reciprocating saw, but told police she only picked it up to attack an intruder who had broken into their home and escaped through a window in a child's bedroom, The Herald reports.

Police say the window is outfitted with a child lock, which keeps it from opening more than a few inches.

"There was no evidence there was an intruder," Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz told the paper.

Investigators found a bloody reciprocating saw on the bedroom floor and a hatchet, which was still wet, seemingly fresh from a wash, atop an upper shelf in the kitchen, according to The Herald.

The suspect is under investigation of first-degree domestic violence assault and is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Alright, I get it, people are crazy, and for some reason she thought this was the best way to get rid of him, instead of maybe the sane option of divorce. But I think we can up the charges from domestic violence assault to just full fledged attempted murder.

So theres the question I guess. First, what do you think of the story. And second, should she be getting a bigger accusation then domestic violence assault.

There's no way we can make an informed judgement on something like that based on one news article.

They have trials for a reason.

Though, I will add that I'd have thought it'd not be that hard to decapitate someone if you got them while they were asleep...if you were willing to go through with it, I mean. On the other hand, I've not tried that recently.

so if there was an intruder, why did she go for her husband?

Crazy ***** is exactly where she belongs! She should be up for a damn sight more than domestic violence assault.

It's a bizarre way to try and kill your husband, although, maybe she never intended to get away with it. It's a very gruesome and personal way to murder someone so she must hold some serious anger/hatred towards him.

The charges should definitely be upped to attempted murder. It's ridiculous that it's just domestic violence assault. Although... why didn't she kill him? Maybe she just wanted to maim him... not that it makes the situation much better but I can't understand why she didn't finish the job. Who called the police?

Jesus we seem to breed them crazier here in the Northwest. Does seem like they went for the lesser charge to get a surer conviction, though it does seem that she was trying to kill him.

i like how the police are "lolwut" on the intruder escaping out the window with the child lock...

Huh. How do you fail at decapitating someone who is sleeping? Just do it, chop chop! I guess you can't really axe her now, though it seems like she got ahead of herself. She seemed pretty crazy, maybe she should switch to decap. Either way, she didn't make the cut as a murderer. Kinda funny to make that intruder claim, when the police easily saw that it was impossible.

Okay okay, ***** is kah-ray-zee from the looks of it, but who knows, maybe they've both been trying to kill each other for years and she just came the closest to winning.

reciprocating saw.
heh... reciprocating... we just happen to be doing reciprocals of quadratics in math and such...

Also, who the hell attacks an intruder with a saw when there's a hatchet nearby?
If you chop them with an axe a few times, they will fall to the ground.

Why was there a reciprocating saw within such convenient reach? Why was she hacking at her husbands neck instead of the intruder? Why was her husband sleeping in her childs bedroom? Why was there no evidence of an intruder? Her story has more gaping holes in it than the Bismarck.

So... the way I see it... She tried to kill her husband while he's asleep... But fails? That only means on thing: Conspiracy!

Honest officer! The intruder turned into jelly and went through the child locked door, then turned around, broke into the house again, turned into smoke, and dove inside my sleeping husband! Honest! Hey what are you... oh this is a comfy straight jacket

All I have to say is: How do you NOT wake up if someone starts up a sawzall next to your head?
