Honestly, I just heard this topic on the radio with some woman arguing with a man over wasps. Fair enough, but the woman there wanted to make me scream! She said some of the most annoying things I've ever heard she said for example:

"Well they're just horrible scavengers" and "They're just useless".

This is just ridiculous I can't stand the sort of person who hates creatures just because they aren't any use to humanity. Personally I think that they have just as much right to live on the planet as we do. Hell all this stuff about wasps deliberately attacking people is nonsense, I always make a point of picking up wasps if they're trapped in a bus or car and I've never been stung once.

So where do you stand on this issue?

I like wasps, symbol of British summer time, if we ever get one.
They can piss you off at BBQ's though

Wow... you pick up wasps? I'm impressed.
Personally I avoid them at all costs... but I in no way am campaigning for their extinction.
Bees however....

Well whether you believe in creationism or evolution, nothing is useless.

If God created them then it just has a sick sense of humour.

If evolution did then they must fill a niche in the eco-system somewhere, I can't say what because I don't know much about them.

Wasps are a vital part of the ecosystem. They keep the bee population down. However, that doesn't mean i enjoy their presence, but i do appreciate them. Except the sparrow wasps of japan, where i fuckin live. Fuck those things.

Hornets don't count, they're not proper wasps.

I don't hate wasps, but if it's a choice between risking getting stung and not getting stung I'll ere on the side of caution. That is to say, I'll crush'em rather than pick them up.

As for the whole being useless thing, that women clearly didn't know what she was talking about (something that happens on the radio with far to much), wasps are a fundamental part of the British ecosystem: just look at this article for more info

So many wasps, although they give me alot of laughs, my friend broke his leg so was on crutches, someone took his crutches while he leaned on a poll and then a wasp came round him and he is shit scared of wasps, so he is attempting to hop away from the wasp.

Although, I hate people who kill bee's it's as if they don't realize that bee's are getting worse everyday yet they still insist on killing them.

eh, same difference. While I understand that they're technically not the same species, i think i still get the point across. That is to say, they have a purpose and place in our ecosystem.

The small child or the wasp?

I hope you're talking about the children.
That would be quite funny.
...ninja'd.

And wasps are fine as long as they're not in my house.
The instant they trespass...they die.

I know!! I love bees!!! They are so useful and interesting too.

Topic wise- I actually have nothing against wasps. I have never been stung by one, or been bothered by one either.

they are useless, they are annoying and should be either taken out or moved away like we do to other things we no longer have use for, such as 30 year old servers etc, we humans are parasitic we will use then move on, the wasp is useless so lets get rid or adapt
