So a few months ago, I read this story where a Brett Farve fan took off his Farve jersey for the first time in 1,581 days. That's like 4 years of wearing the same thing. He ate in the jersey, he slept in the jersey. He went to school in teh jersey. He even showered in the jersey. He was 12 years old. I give you fair people of the escapist these questions:what's your opinion? Why would someone wear something for so long? Would you do the same? Please share your ideas.

I've been wearing this gold chain for at least 4 years. Mabey a little differnt from a jersey but I would feel naked without it.

Well I have a dog tag that I wear every day, but I don't sleep/shower with it. It does go as far as me feeling uncomfortable without it.

Yea, I know where you guys are coming from, I have a ring that I wear everyday. But he wore a shirt for 4 years straight. I don't even think I could wear the same socks for 4 years.

Its not so much an article of clothing but I feel weird if I do not have my wallet in my left pocket, my phone and ipod (soon to be iphone YAY!) in my left. I also feel weird if I dont have something wrapped around my wrist like a watch or bandanna.

Yeah if I dont have those things I feel really akward, I dont know.

Wearing the same socks for 4 years is sickening. Those things will be full of mould which would completely destroy those feet.
I'd rather wear a t-shirt for 4 years than do that.

Exactly! This is what I don't get. This kid started the wearing the shirt constantly when he was 8 years old. When he "showered" he said that he just let water run through it, no soap or anything. The parents thought it was absolutely fine that their son smelled like moldy pizza for 4 years, which is why I think that it's disgusting.

That's funny, because with my favourite jumper I wear it less often. Because it's my favourite I don't wear it very much because I want to keep it in good condition.

Shirts & trousers I were most often are ones that I don't have a lot of attachment to, so I don't mind if they get dirty, have stuff spilt on them and suffer from other wear & tear.

I have worn the same watch for over a year now, only very rarely taking it off to scratch my wrist underneath. Though it completely shattered a week back and now my left wrist just feels weird. I feel completely naked without it.
But how someone can wear a shirt for four years is beyond me. A piece of jewelry I can understand but a shirt.

I've worn the same watch for at least three years straight. The only time I ever take it off is to shower or when I'm doing other activities (swimming, washing the dishes) where it could get wet. I feel naked without it, and there's a very visible tan line underneath it.

i'm going to say it's a fake for a couple reasons

1 health, the kid would get sick from wearing it constantly for 4 years
2 if he showered in it every day he would have ruined it well before then water hurts cloth
3 he would have made it thread bare if the water didn't ruin it

Well Ive been wearing my skin for...well...a long fucking time.
True, but even the skin you're in now isn't the same as it was even one year ago, let alone four. I know this is besides the point, but I just couldn't let that opportunity pass.

Anywho, even as a member of "Packer Nation" (albiet not the most committed member at this time) this claim is just perposterous for the reasons stated above but also because there's really no way to verify the claim. How can we be sure even that that's the same jersey he put on four years ago.

[/conspiracy theory]
