So this probably sounds weird, but I have this thing about yawning.

I don't know what it is, but every time I see or hear someone yawning I get really irritated.

It may be because I grew up with a dad who can't go 2 minutes without yawning and would always find ways to express them loudly because he knew how much it bugged me.

I know that it can't be helped, I just wish people would cover their yawns like you would when you cough or sneeze, because it really makes you look gross, at least I think so.

Anyway what are some of your guys' weird pet peeves?

People who leave the tops off of the toothpaste tube. Does it really take so much effort to screw it back on? Does it? Because every time i see the little white bastard sitting all by its lonesome on the bathroom sink, I feel like strangling an Aardvark!

Oh, and welcome to the Escapist!

Well!

- People that hose their driveways
- People that constantly say 'and such'
- People that chew really loudly
- People that burp without saying 'excuse me' afterwards
- People that flick their snot, even if no body is in that general direction. Is it really that hard to carry a tissue?
- The sound of people scratching their skin on public transport

The list could go on, really.

The words "pet peeves" annoy me... Alot... Yes I'm aware of the irony. Also the sound of people eating/chewing, or the sound of skin against paper towels *shivers*

People touching my head. It makes me feel like punting babies.
I'm also not a huge fan of people who have bad grammar, or the soothing sounds of Styrofoam.

... It's the little things that really make the difference.

I HATE being asked how I am...ridiculous isn't it?
I also go ballistic when someone repeats themselves - quickly. As in, someone calls my name, and then does so again the next second before I even get a chance to respond.

The sound, or rather, the squeaking of styrofoam is absolutely unbearable to my ears, and I would rather accept any other form of torture. I...I have prepared an example, and it was very...very difficult to listen to.

I.[HEADING=1]hate.[/HEADING]that noise.

People that are stupid...

...it's terrible to say but if someone says something completely stupid and they are being completely serious I get really really angry at them...

When people emphasise weird parts of words, or say words with a weird gear shift, like they'll say paart of a word at one speed but then they change the speed of their speech for half of their word.
And when people speak at a single speed during their entire sentance without inflection or emotional shift.

That's half the reason I can't enjoy dubs.

People who pronounce the word Comrade as COM-RAYD.

I know it's technically a correct pronunciation, but it annoys me.

When people eat, then use their greasy fingers to manhandle any of my possessions. Happens a lot more than you'd think, and not just with kids.

On this note, people licking their fingers. Its even worse because most of them don't wash afterwards. Its repulsive and makes me nauseous just to think about it.

Also, people singing badly to music. Even when people who can sing seem to default into this grating, breathy mewling that makes me want to scream. The worst part is that if I ask someone to stop and explain its just a random thing that bothers me, everyone takes it personally and acts like I'm such a *****.
