I live in Calgary, Canada. Our city is notoriously dry, and usually our summers only have a couple of days of rain in them. This summer, however, we've had rain for (Hard to find exact statistics) but at least half of the days. On top of that, it's some pretty ridiculously heavy rain. Our streets have been flooding somewhat regularly, and we've got some massive hail. Apparently a summer hasn't had this much rain in Calgary since 1927.

What about the rest of you? Have you had any unusual weather in the last year?

It was too hot this year. Yesterday it was too windy - it was almost as bad as a typhoon.

I'm in Pennsylvania. It's been a bit hotter then usual I think, but the thing that stands out more is the wonkers patterns. The temp goes up and down more then usual.

We had a surprisingly warm winter where I live in New Hampshire, USA. We barely got any snow the entire season. Probably because the previous year was bad enough that I gave in and bought a snow blower.

We're in the middle of a pretty bad drought though, so feel free to send some of that rain our way.

I've lived in Southern Ontario most of my life, and I've seen my area go from having 4 actual seasons, (fall, winter, spring, summer) to just having crappy generic non-changing weather. Sure, days can get colder, or hotter, or even rain, but Winter practically doesn't exist anymore. We used to have snow on the ground for holloween and stuff, but for the past like 6 years, it'd be surprising to see snow fall by christmas, or if it did, it certainly would melt by the next day. And then by February, we'd just enter the mucky wet months till summer.

Winter just seems to not be happening anymore. I think we only had snow on the ground for like 2-3 weeks in january this year. There was a massive icestorm a couple years ago that quite literally froze the city, tree's snapping under the weight, telephone/power poles snapping in half across entire streets...That shit was crazy, but other than that, Global fucking warming.

Here in Stl we've been having super violent lightning storms in the middle of the night. And I mean my entire house shakes and quakes with each near deafening strike. And it always starts at like 3am and goes until 6.

It was a short and sporatic winter, which was weird, since the weather in this area is usually BAD around those times. I think the summer is fairly par, though.

Oh yah, what the hell was up with winter? I went outside everyday praying for snow, and all I ever got for my troubles was mildly chilly air.

Any particular reason for the winter desire?

A decade of hopping around Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and Iraq.

That and I've always loved winter. I run absurdly hot.

One of these things is not like the other. Also, I thought Georgia had lousy weather.

Naw, this year thus far has been pretty average for Reno, although we caught a heat wave last week which was awful.

In winter, it's cold. Not temperature wise though. During every other time period, it's a humid furnace.

Particularly the Army bits of it. I think there's some statute buried in the Constitution that says you can't build an Army base on land unless it's Hell on Earth, whether it be the classic inferno or Dante's 9th circle.

Te weather around here can change pretty abruptly, but about a month ago we had a thunderstorm come in that rained so hard that I couldn't see the house next to me. It sounded like being inside a TV set to a dead channel.

I'm ashamed to admit that I just now heard about the fire at Fort McMurray up in Alberta. I spend so many long hours at work that it's easy to lose track of what's going on in the world.

Even when next to flames over 100 feet high, Canadians are still fairly organized and polite. I'd still move up there, terrible fires or not.

This is the weather that turned my town into a horror version of Frozen and split a tree in half near my home, blocking the road.

We've had several tornado warnings in Calgary this summer, but thankfully none of them got close enough to take our roof off. Though one was close enough that we could sit on our roof and watch it almost touch down (Which I'm to believe is exactly what you want to do in such a situation)

Yeah, those were crazy. Thankfully everything was responded to very well. To my knowledge there were only two casualties in the whole situation, and those were two people who fell asleep at the wheel while driving away.
