Hello escapists I am very depressed right now, I am 14 years old with a 12 and 8 year old sister and brother, respectively, I was minding my business when 3 loud knocks sounded on my door. An obese legal man stood there and was looking for my dad, since my parents are seperated I called my mother over. About 3 minutes later he handed her documentation of the foreclosure. Now I ask you my friends do you have any useful advice, that might give me hope?

I only have a vague understanding of whats going on but I think it means the legal system is going to ruin my life...again. My mom is about $400 US behind on the mortgage and said she put down 2 payments, I don't know. This all based off what I over hear.

Although if there is a god in heaven this will be a mistake on the banks part. Money is very tight in the household and my mom has 3 mouths to feed on top of this, and her job isn't exactly paying the highest salary. She might have to apply for welfare if we keep the house.

I think I'm blowing this out of proportion. So theres my sob story, I know there are hundreds of families going through this (right?) but damn.

P.S This is my first post.(What a wonderful start)

I hope that asshole likes his job. Even though it's not his fault.

That thread title sure is an attention getter. Also, that's sad and I have no idea how to help you.

Oh wow. Well, organize a fundraiser maybe? Get your community together and hold some sort of event in order to raise money. They will likely be able to help since you'd have to be one cold S.O.B. in order to refuse to help someone keep their house. If you or your mother have paypal I'll send over some of my own money as well.

$400 US isn't that much, I'm sure you can easily get a loan for that amount. I mean, I know you'll have to pay it back eventually, at fairly high interest, but hey, it's better than losing the house right?
What he said.

400$ could be given as a loan, or, who knows, maybe you could get a job at McDonald's to help pay for it?

[small]I'm not very good with relationships, so I don't know...... :D[/small]

If I were in your position I would do just about anything to make the cash I need to make those payments fast.

Well I could apply at my local grocery store, but I doubt they'd hire inexperienced me over professional bag boys who have diplomass in elite bagging technique.

I don't know it's not really my job to get loans and stuff.
Well obviously it's not YOUR job, you're 14, no one is going to give a loan to YOU. I'm just saying, a $400 loan is small enough that your family can probably get it even without very good credit.

A very good point indeed, well played.

Getting evicted for $400? Organize the neighbourhood. Let them kick you out if there's 100 people in front of the house!

Oh. Well I'm sorry to hear about that.

If you don't mind me asking, what would you say your social class is?

Huh.... Well, if your mom's credit is any good I'm sure she could get a loan, or you could pawn some old stuff you don't use any more.

If your thinking of trying to get a job, I would try SnagAJob.com
That's the site I'm using, I'm trying to get a job for the summer.

I really hope things work out for you guys.
