I don't even know what to say. I'm a little appalled. I hadn't even heard about this; it has a much larger and arguably more effective scope than SOPA. It isn't just the US either. Canada, Japan, the UK and the US are supposed to be in on this as well.

I dunno... from what I've been reading, that's kinda old and off the record at this point. Hell, it may be officially dead (in the US at least).

What brought this on? Is it being reopened or something?

According to the wiki page, it's been as active as recently as last October...

"Article 39 of ACTA specifies that the agreement is open for signature until 31 March 2013.
