I just uninstalled AVG it was kinda pissing me off. What anti-virus do you use? Would you recommend it?

(I'm sure this kinda of thread has been done before, but I think the information on these kinda threads quickly becomes outdated.)

I use Norton 360.

Though I hear many bad things about Norton, I never had any problems with it. Only downside is when it expires it will never stop bothering you.

Lol, I recommend AVG. I love this program. The first time I scanned my comp it found 13 trojans that Norton never found.

Norton, it's treated me well so far, although I have heard of others not having such a good experience with it... Well that and I have McAfee site adviser and I use NoScript on websites I don't trust fully...
That it it has such a quaint and fun to say name!

How I imagine it:
"Alright Norton, time for our daily virus check buddy!"
"...We had one 5 hours ago, and you didn't do anything between then and now besides look at Youtube videos..."
"Shut up! I can be paranoid if I want!"
...God I'm lonely.

AVG, but I have to ask...

... how bored would you have to be to make this thread?

On second thought, probably about as bored as you'd have to be to post in it.

I use Kasperski, it work well, and does not slow down my PC at all. even during scans I don't notice it's running.

Kaspersky. It's extremely powerful and isn't a resource hog like Norton.

regular antivirus (I don't care what it's called) and MalwareBytes, which is free and amazing.

Avast! Antivirus, and Malwarebyte's anti-malware on the side. Avast will block most things, and has boot time scans (so bloody useful) to get rid of really tricky stuff. And everyone should have Malwarebyte's or at least spybot search and destroy in addition to an antivirus.

I've used a ton of different ones and I find these to be the best. For the love of god don't pay for Norton or McAfee. Avast or AVG are better than both of them and both are free. Especially McAfee, its a really low quality antivirus program. It couldn't get rid of stuff that Avast could.

I really used to subscribe to the "Antivirus software is for sissy's" philosophy. If I did get a virus I assumed I was doing something stupid to deserve it and then resorted to a web based scan. Not too long ago I had a run in with Avast though and I've been using it since.

Lol, does anyone else remember F-Prot?
