Hello all.

I've decided to start branching out a bit with my Firefox add-ons. At the moment I just have add blocker, Stumblupon and Video Downloader. Which others would you recommend?

Are there any little known gems you guys use?

Add To Search Bar [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3682], for those search bars that you want quick access to if the website doesn't normally allow you to install it.

Image Zoom [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/139], allowing you to zoom images by holding the rmb and scrolling with the scroll wheel.

DownloadThemAll! [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/201], a download accelerator and manager.

NoScript [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722], which disables scripts (javascript, etc) on a webpage until you allow it. a bit over-the-top, perhaps, but helps increase browser security.

Yeah really can't see why that would be a problem. Is it really a faux pa?

Well I use a coding addon, it has HTML and BBC, plus an additional 10 custom tag slots. It's pretty useful here on the escapist if I can't remember how to do something.

Tab Mix is probably the best one that I have. It lets you do stuff like duplicate tabs, see a list of recently closed tabs etc.

well let's see this site's main source of income is from ads, you are blocking those ads and therefore depriving them of their chance at revenue. so basically you are costing them money and not allowing them to make money

also users in the past have been banned for saying "i use ad blocking in my browser"

read thru this, a couple posts were edited to remove the references to ad blocking

this one is from Kross about why ad blocking is bad for this site

That second link has a good point, would you rather put up with a few ads here and there or pay a subscription to the site and have them removed?

On topic, there was an add-on that allows you to add BBcode text by highlighting your text and right clicking., makes it much easier than having to write it out.

Mouse Gestures Redox would have to be my absolute favorite. Gone are the days of hitting Ctrl+T!

blocking ads is definately not good for the site, but giving people warnings/bans for mentioning ad-blocker is immoral at best. because sure he's not paying for the adds, but now u just pissed him off enough to not consider the forum store too.
