We all know them and love them! Whether batter dipped, breaded, or just plain plopped into some hot oil they seem to capture our hearts and fill our stonachs. I want to know your favorite artery blocking pieces of goodness. Fat free freaks need not apply.

My favorites include funnel cakes, Chicken fried steak (I am an adopted son of Texas of course), Fried Turkey, fried okra, and my recent love Fried Jalapeno's!

So sound off My beloved Escapists, declare your favorite now!

Good to see another Texan here...

I really enjoy my stepdad's Fried Pork Chops... oh my god, with the gravy he makes... it's absolute heaven.

Also, boneless buffalo tenders... they're fried and dipped in Win-sauce.

Fried Spam. Although for some reason it's actually not that cheap, least in England anyway, weird since it was a wartime cost saving food. Probably good that it is or I'd gorge myself on the stuff.

From Arlington, TX here.

Fried Chicken is a world over favorite (When I was in Dubai, KFC had a buffet! Why don't we have that here? Oh yeah, people can *eat* here).

Pizza rolls are nice. Jalapeno Bombers are amazing (especially if you get ahold of the rare kind with Pepperjack Cheese). As a matter of fact, in Dubai they had this one wierd triangular thing... had like goat cheese, possibly feta cheese in it? Either way, amazing.

Also, fried doesn't necesarily mean *batter dipped and fried*. Have you tried taking a non-stick pan, pouring in a little olive oil, some salt and pepper and a nice quarter inch-thick slice of havarti or mozzerella? The oil will keep the cheese from melting (like nacho cheese), you just want to brown it a little on one (or both) sides. Cut into cubes, serve with toothpicks... the texture, the taste: Out of this world.

Fried twinkie bits slathered in mayonnaise and refried to give it a nice crust, then wrapped in a cookie dough tortilla where it is fried for a 3rd time to make a burrito, then sprinkle it with fried mustard

If you're ever near Old Town Spring, TX (its near Houston) You have to go to Puffabellies and get thier fried cheeseballs, they are about the size of a five year olds fist and have great little bits of jalapeno also their Texas Toothpicks are fine and dandy themselves.

Anyway, I remeber a little place called Hikory Hollow that served a chicken fried steak. It was served on a plate with a three foot diameter and it reaced over the plate in most instances. Eating one of those feels like you've actually done something with your life.
