Well hello my fellow escapists I ask you what character do you relate too most and why This character can be from TV,Anime,Games,Books or Movies. It will nice too know what category they fit in as well. Mine is Suigetsu from Naruto (Anime) Hes a bit of a jerk, confident in his abilities, like too crack jokes, goes with the flow and he has a long term goal that drives him ...so tell me yours.

I'd say Artyom from Metro: 2033, THE BOOK, not the game...

A loner Atheist on a important mission that nobody (including him) really understands...

I keep coming back to Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect. Fully realising that I'm not as much of a badass I relate to his attitute toward bureaucracy, I value loyalty as much as he does and I share his sense of morality - although I'm certainly not as proactive about it. Garrus is also quiet but calculating but not immune to making a rash decision based on emotion over logic. I do think I'm a little more forgiving than him though. Anyone else notice that the Garrus missions in both ME 1 and 2 were revenge based?

I agree with you.
He just wanted to deliver his message and get home.

I'd like to say "any assassin or thief-type character"... but truth be told, I'm not. Oh sure, I love darkness, dark clothing (particularly cowl-hooded cloaks) and I can sneak quieter than our cats can... but personality-wise, I'm not like that. I don't think I could kill by choice and I'm certainly no thief.

I'd say I'm probably like Imoen from Baldur's Gate 1+2. Agile and capable, intelligent and stealthy, but with a strong moral compass and a dislike for seeing "wrong" happening (for lack of a better way to put it). What I mean by that is I abhor slavery and its like. Anything that would restrict the rights or life of an innocent, by which I mean someone who has no involvement with the situation and is generally a good person, I stand against. Not to say I don't like a good fight though. I also tend to be a little self-doubting and some would say I refuse to see my true worth. Modesty can be a pain in such a respect.

Jimmy McNulty. I can either do what I love, but the rest of my life will be fucked up, or I can let go of my passion and be happy in every other aspect. I can't have both.

Terra from FF6,she's looking for love and a purpose in life and constantly gets shit piled on her while trying to obtain the former.Though I don't have an evil clown looking for me.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say (taking how I saw her character)....

Liara (ME series): I'm a quiet nerd(geek?), loyal like a puppy, I attach easily, am generally a nice person...once I actually open my mouth, and I do like history and hold facts in my head easily...

...Seeing as how she creeped me out while actually playing the game, I think I just had a look at my own person. Ahhh....now it all makes sense.

An interesting question, do flexible RPG charachters count?

I cant think of any charachters off the top of my head but When given the option I adjust charachters to make them more relatable, for example I made My saints row 2 charachter a skinny, somewhat plain looking caucasion girl with brown hair. Its like a version of me if I was a sciopathic Gangsta, its hilarious.

Ayumu Kasuga (Osaka, Azumanga Daioh). Her surreal view of the world makes total sense to me. Change her gender, add to her a few liters of intense emotion and a bit more insanity, then you have me.

Edit: Or just combining Osaka and Sakaki should do well enough.

Henchman 21 from the Venture Brothers, pre-season 4. I'm a pudgy nerd that only has half a clue what's going on most of the time.

Most definitely Jarlexe Banare from the Drizzt series. The way he has a magical item for every situation. That would definitely be me in that type of world. No fighting fair, Im gonna cheat!!! :)

Denmark from the webcomic 'Scandenavia and the world' by Humon.
I do this because I identify myself with the stereotype danish. A little stupid, freeminded, love alchohol a little too much, think Norway is great and I act like an twat when I'm drunk.

Probably Richard from The Beach, novel. Because he hates touristy things, plays a lot of video games but also wants to get out and see the great outdoors, his own way.

Just about every time I see a Michael Cera film, I get depressed since I always see myself as his character except without the whole female-interaction part...
