Depends on the price.

I don't really recommend an SSD for caching... what size is it? The performance improvements are mediocre with that from what I've seen. Probably more useful to just buy an 80-120gb SSD as a Windows drive.

I'm also not entire sold on the 560 Ti 448, though they are pretty good performers.

i have a budget of 1500 dollars
the ssd can fit 64gb
can you tell me what you know about ssd caching, i will have a better time knowing where you are coming from since i doubt what you know about ssd caching to be exactly the same stuff that i know.

I don't think you should get the 448 560 Ti, why not save £70 and go for the 560 Ti and you won't take much of a performance hit.

I'll put a +1 for Wolfram's suggestion, I don't see why you wouldn't put your OS on the SSD.
that is exactly what i plan on doing with the os

You said you were going to use it for caching.
i guess i didn't know what caching was exactly, i thought it was installing the OS onto the ssd for better performance.

I use an 850w for sli gtx 580 OC and an OC 2600k at 4.7GHz. Keep the 650. I have the same case :)

What is your reasoning for keeping the larger PSU?

The OP is buying a 650W PSU with 1 mid range card while you have 2 high end cards in SLI.

So he can get another one later.

By the time you need a new card why not just get... a new card.

You won't encounter the whole new range of issues that SLI brings and your new card will most likely have new technologies like DX12.

Lol dx12? The 7000 radeons and 700 geforce series use dx11.

With a 580 you should really have at least a 850 because they tend to have higher 12v+ rail voltages. The 580 has a very high demand from the PSUs dedicated 12v+ rail.

I would take caution to buying a 64gb SSD, I don't know about anyone else but I have a 120gb one and after the slight loss you get in space because every drive is slightly under box label, and installing windows ultimate 64bit and all its updates I was left with like 64ish gb free.

Well in that case I'll repeat what I said before, I think it's better if you get a 560 Ti rather than the 448 version as it is better value for money.

Also a 650W PSU is a bit overkill unless you want to crossfire/SLI, you could get the 500W Corsair PSU and it would do just fine.
I'm trying to get this system to run battlefield 3 and Skyrim at ultra settings
you think that card will do the job?
