What do you do to stay calm? (or level headed)

I ask out of curiosity. Just a few minutes ago on the Minecraft forums I was bombarded with replies of people essentially calling me a moron. Long story short, a guy asked if his laptop can run Minecraft, I asked more detailed specs, some guy insulted me, and soon everyone ganged in telling me I was wrong, but not in any way that was polite or fair to my side of the story. So I got pretty heated, not because I was wrong, I could accept that, but because everyone was too busy pointing out how much of an idiot I was to let me either agree with them, or help them follow my logic.

So what I did was leave, be pissed a few seconds, try to forget any of that existed (staying away from that part of the forums, realizing I was wrong, but they were wrong in how they pointed it out) opened up Soundcloud and looked for some beautiful music to remind me that there are people out there with real hearts. I mean, they have to I assume, since some of the music is just amazing that I find on there.

What do you do to stay calm? Either after a heated argument, embarrassment, or some bad news?

I kill a lot of enemies... in a video game... of my choosing...

If I don't have a video game on had at the moment, I do absolutely nothing... I find it the easiest way to calm down while simultaneously hiding the fact that I wasn't calm just a few seconds ago...

Then again, I'm mostly a calm person... who makes other people "uncalm", in comparison... (I'm the life of the party~!)

If all else fails... I punch a wall... like this is the apex of a high-school based movie...

I'm not so sure what keeps me calm these days. I guess it's the idea that I believe in striving to do to no harm to others if possible. It's getting harder to keep to that. But I still think that the moment someone acts with malicious intent, you've lost the privilege of mercy or understanding others might have towards you.

It's kinda hard to get me over the line, to make me start yelling, or punching table or something. But if that happens, I just kinda... calm myself really. I get frustrated for a while, I growl a little, but then I just control myself. I know it isn't really specific, but I'm pretty good at controlling my emotions.

I understand, some people are better at it than others. Most of the time, I do pretty well, but the incident I mentioned above was just appalling. No one gave me a chance, everyone that replied was trying to smash me into the ground, and all I wanted to do was help out some poor guy who wanted to know if his laptop would run Minecraft okay.

Take a walk, listen to Chopin.
Clean the kitchen,(and in particular;) do the dishes. There's just something about cleaning plates and glasses. First they were dirty, now they are clean. I did that. In that very moment, the act of brushing remains off plates is my entire existence. In a way, it's very much like the practice of Zen archery or Zazen.

Take a shower; nothing makes me forget all my troubles while also spawning all sorts of great new ideas like taking a shower.

Sometimes I clean or shower while listening to Chopin.

My answer is quite simple.

A battery of drugs and chemicals help me keep an even keel. Also something about burying my [sub]villainous[/sub] nature. I don't know, I try not to pay attention to boring people and things.

Low and slow.
Cold and steady.

I ask myself whether I will remember this tomorrow, or even in a few hours. The answer tends to be no so there you go, that's how I stay calm: by not sweating the small stuff.

EDIT: Just look at my avatar for guidance, look how care-free she is.

So, you change into a sexy woman with Oolong Tea? Is this an episode of Ranma 1/2?

OT: Well, there is no one cure for the common anger, but let's just use forums as an example. I've been fairly mellow on the internet, even the harsh debates of the Escapist's own Relgion/Politics discussion area. The trick is to remember a variation of the MST3K Mantra. It's just a forum, so I should really just relax. In this manner, I have reduced the chances of spitting bile in someone's face and devouring their organs while maintaining a rather formidable flame shield.

I'll put on some music, but not nice stuff. Oh no, If I'm pissed off I want to fucking add to that anger, but add to it in a way that makes the anger enjoyable and fun. So I'll listen to some gritty, pissed-off gun in your face gangsta rap or some chainsaw-guitars death metal to bring upon that mood. It is surprisingly effective. I have two levels of anger, happy-anger that music brings about, and pissed-off anger that video games often bring about (hey, we all have that shit at some point). So yeah, the former is quite relaxing, in a weird way.

In some cases I get up and stand in place for a few minutes, focusing on a point on the wall as I run through in my mind all of my angry emotions. Sometimes I clench my fists as tight as I can. It generally helps in the worst of scenarios.

Most of the time, though, I just put on some music:

I have to say Mr. Jack, you are constantly sarcastic. Not to a fault mind you, but certainly it's become a characteristic I've come to expect from your posts. Though that said, a cursory glance through your recent history indicates a much more thoughtful/cerebral side as well.

You have a beautifully artful way of skirting the line between providence and disaster.
For that, I must asseverate my recognition of your talents.[footnote]*Note: Redeemable for a maiming, poisoning, threshing or torture of your choosing. No refunds or exceptions. I haven't the slightest idea of which you speak sir. Take care not to injure your hand.
It simply wouldn't do at all.

In just about everything but video games? Putting things into perspective. I've gotten so good at it that I can't stop - If someone, say, cut me up in traffic (Not that I drive now, but shush, example) I'm just like "Eh, it's fine. They're probably just in a rush. It happens to all of us." It's a rather optamistic view that I hold:
Never attribute to malice what you can attribute to stupidity, but also;
Never attribute to stupidity what you can attribute to miscommunication.

Now, games, I get really passionate about, and if THEY piss me off, I just find the best way to take petty revenge. Which can be anything from just cheating my way back to where I was, to save scumming, to glitching, whatever, anyway to prove that I'm better then you, you stupid game, and I will not be bested THAT easily, HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAA!

... Maaaaybe I'm too passionate about games.

I dont get angry. Im not kidding i just dont feel anger. I start to get angry or wound up and i think to myself "why am i letting this bother me". The key is to not let what ever it is that should be making you angry get to you. This is really easy if its a person because you know that they are trying to make you angry and you essentially "win" by staying calm as they get more and more enraged as you stay calmer and calmer

If you dont have as advanced anger management skills as me (seriously i need to teach this shit but sadly i just dont know how i do it) then i suggest going for a long shower just to wash the anger out. Sit down in the shower too i dont know why it works better like that it just does

Riiiiiiiight... Besides, why would I do that to my own head? I know the phrase is "use your head", but even I don't take it that seriously...

Not really the "best" way of calming yourself or someone else down... even if that's how you get Killer Croc off your back...

Something terrible just occurred to me. What if he changes when it's 'that time of the month'?
