So Escapist, what instrument do you play and why?

Feel free to post makes and models if you want and pictures

I play bass and guitar
Bass - Ibanez SR305

Guitar - Epiphone Les Paul Gothic

Effects - NuX 07 Effects Pedal Board

Amp - Orange Crush PiX BXT100

As you can see from the type of gear I use, I play lots of metal and heavy rock, which is the main reason I play guitar and bass. Most common instruments in those genres, and I can't sing and wasn't a drum kit

Don't play anything...I have 8 years of voice lessons under my belt, though. That count?

Well, take that back. I did play the Recorder in Elementary School. I made the special club for it, too. But everybody had to do that, so I don't think it really counts.

Keyboard (mostly video game music), and since posting a picture doesn't say much, I'm posting a vid about the guy who inspires me the most:

I own a very nice Tenor Sax.
It produces beautiful tunes, and I play quertet with my three friends, a Bass and two Alts.

Bassoon FTW!

Also Piano, Xylaphone/Marimba, Bass Guitar, dabbled with my brother's Baritone and played the Tympani for a school play. The piano I've played the longest, but the bassoon i tend to enjoy the most. Especially because I was the only bassoonist in my high school when I went so I was coveted by the band and orchestra directors :p

A Hermit's Cave
Violin & piano, originally.
Then started playing viola, couldn't really read the clef properly, so I cheated.
Then started organ, and only played every other note with the pedals.

And I'm counting the harpsichord, 'cos the playing style is different from the piano... so shut it!

Viola, 16-inch, and drums.
I've started learning the shakuhachi, and I played the piano when I was about 7 or so.

I have many instruments, but I'll try and show as accurate a picture as possible off the web.

Isabelle, my near perfect condition 1948 Gibson L-50 archtop. This baby sings like a bird, and is by far my favorite of my collection. Mine has the Kluxon tuning heads, rather than the originals in this picture.

1984 Guild Dreadnaught 12 string. This baby sings like a hummingbird, and I use it exclusively for rhythm chords and classical fingerpicking.

My father has a classic sunburst Gibson Ripper bass that I threw a set of flatwound strings on and it sounds awesome. This is the primary bass that I play.

I cannot forget Tard. He's my Big Bass Tard, a german upright, and I love to jazz it up with this guy. No image needed for this guy, since he looks just like a glossy upright, and is a Big Bass Tard anyways.

I also have a couple trombones, a beautiful full mahogany 1927 Sohmer grand piano, a kingston bass that is fun to play with, a mandolin, and a few other guitars I won't mention.

Yes, yes it does. A singer is an instrumentalist...

...as long as you can hold on to a rhythm.

I play a vintage VRS100c:

I play it on a pretty basic, fairly old 100W Marshall amp:
(I won't post an img cause you've all seen one)

I occasionally bother to dig out a Behringer X-V-Amp to run it through:

Why: Because I can't afford fuck all else :p

Last time I tried to post a picture, it failed, so...

I play Clarinet mainly (my lady is a LeBlanc Noblet who prefers 4 1/2 Mitchell Lurie reeds), but I also play guitar (which I also teach, and my beast is an old acoustic that I got from my uncle), some sax, some flute, some viola, a bit of piano, and I sing.

In before triangle.

We have an extremely out of tune piano, some cheap guitars (1 fake stratocaster, others acoustic), and a ukulele sitting around the house, and I try to improvise on them when there's no-one around and I'm feeling particularly hyperactive, creative, or impatient, for some reason I'm not sure of. I hope I don't annoy the hell out of my neighbours.
