I myself think that this year has the most high-profile game releases that I am interested in getting. Other than a few disappointing decisions *cough* GTA V PC delay *cough*, I haven't seen much controversy this year either. So, what do you think? Are there releases coming up or already out you enjoyed or think you will? How is this year impacting gaming as a whole? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

This year so far has been a massive "meh" from me. The only game so far I've played and enjoyed to a massive extent has been Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate! The other big purchases, Watch-Dogs and Destiny have just been alright. I ended up turning in Watch_Dog and Destiny can only keep my attention for an hour or two at most.

Hopefully my year picks up Tuesday, with Shadow of Mordor being released. Even more hopefully it all goes uphill from there. Beyond Earth, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Assassin's Creed" Unity, that other Assassin's Creed title, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, and Call of Duty: Advance Warfare are all games I'm looking forward to.

For me, this year has largely been a slow one. November is looking insane though with DA3, LBP3, Far Cry 4 and Binding of Isaac Rebirth coming out. I'm not sure where I'm going to find time to play them all, especially if I'm still playing Destiny at that time.

Besides than The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead Season 2, there hasn't been much of interest this year for me, fortunately I have a huge backlog of games I want to play and since I actually own a lot of them it's no big deal, Borderlands 2 is taking forever to finish though.

I don't care for re-mastered games, let alone paying the full price when they first come out. If I've already beaten a game and already know the story... its almost like buying a Blue Ray of something I had previously gotten as a DVD and before the DVD, it was a VHS... in the end its a bit more prettier but still the same thing.

Game wise? I was about to trade in Watch_Dogs for Destiny until I found it was more MMO-ish than an actual game. Completed Kill Zone: Shadowfall with a less-than amused " meh". A big missed opportunity on many levels.

I guess the month of November is the way to wait.

I do have a crap load of un-touched steam titles though.

I think its a bad year when COD won't be the biggest disappointment.Even though people keep saying the Wii U is dieing, it kind of has had the strongest first party line up. Altough screw them for Delaying the Xenoblade game. New 3DS Xenoblade I'llgrab though. Borderlands and the crew are the only games I'm looking forward too this year.

There are quite a few games coming out later this year that have me interested. Dragon Age Inquisition, Forza Horizon 2, and Far Cry 4. Problem for me is I don't have a PS4 or Xbox One yet. It has created a bit of dilemma for me. All these games are coming to Xbox 360 as well so why should I buy a Xbox One yet? Then I think about how I will eventually get one and by then I can pick up all these games definitive versions, likely for less money depending on how long it is til I get a next gen console.

0 interesting games so far. The only ones I have remote interest in are DA3 and GTAV:
- Destiny? Where's my Windows version.
- Watch Doge? I am not playing as that Fuckface.
- Far Cry 4? If it's Brody-like again I am not interested.
- Assassin's Creed? I still have Rev and 4 to start.
- Witcher 3? Remove Geralt and we can talk.
- Mordor? I'll wait to see if Talion is someone I can stand behind. I am not wasting my time playing as someone I don't like.

No biggie, that means more time for KSP and Skyrim.

There have been some decent things going on already, Divinity Original Sin being my favourite of the lot.
Then South Park, does require you to actually like all the crass humour of South Park but it is all you can expect from a game with that title.
Dark Souls 2 came out this year, which I'm still not fond of because it wastes all my time with resets but some people are really into that.
Transistor being the new Bastion like game made for some good times, even if I'll still put Bastion above it.
Broken Age had some good point and click adventure moments.
Banner Saga was a grand oll time bringing tactical grid RPGs back again, would prefer lesser severity on them random travel events however.
Wasteland 2 is out apparently, but I haven't heard anyone substantial sum up how the game fares so I haven't got much on this.

Then you got both the new Halo and CoD for people who might still care, this time called Titanfall and Destiny. Then there was the GTA Without Fun release, called Watch Dogs.
And the very odd Metro HD remakes... both games however are very recent and I really don't know what they were thinking.
And there is Gauntlet again, which is staying very true to series being content barren as ever.

For new game releases this year has been pretty meh for me, not really anything im interested in.

For my 360 and old PC games however, it's been a great year. I've been playing through some of my older games like Dragon age: Origins and Borderlands 2 as well as installing even older games like supreme commander and Dawn of war.

I am looking to pick up Divinity: original Sin when it goes on sale though, I hear it's a decent RPG so i'll probably enjoy it.

It's been a pretty good year so far in terms of gaming for me. Transistor came out and that was as amazing as I'd hoped it would be, Wolf Among Us was fantastic, Age of Wonders 3 didn't disappoint, and for my rpg fix the Dragonfall campaign for Shadowrun was a great little surprise that just got a hefty update in the form of a 'Director's Cut' version. Wasteland 2 is also something I'll be inevitably picking up soon and I still haven't gotten around to playing Divinity Original Sin either, which everyone has been raving about and which I'm sure I'll enjoy.

So not much in the way of massive AAA game releases I've been too excited about this year, but tons of smaller projects I've been having fun playing. Then there's the ongoing support for my strategy game steadies like Crusader Kings 2 or more recently Europa Universalis 4, which I only picked up this year, and that's been devouring a lot of my spare time with delicious strategic goodness.

Yep, pretty good year. Only set to get better too.

Well this had been the year of remaster so far, hasn't it? It seems that the console manufacturers put so much energy into making these things that they forgot that they need games. Not really interested in remasters of 2 year old games to be honest. Remaster KOTOR and we'll talk.

Actually The Last of Us remastered sounds tempting. I've heard that the framerate on the PS3 version can really affect the gameplay experience so I might punt for that.

OT. There's been a fuckton of great games that came out in the past couple of years, they really closed the previous generation with a bang. 2012 onwards has seen so many great releases that there could be nothing coming out for 2 years and I'd still have stuff to play. It does look like the good releases are starting to pick up pace though. Especially on the Wii U. I think I need one.

I like remasters. There are some classic games that would be great on larger screens with better resolutions. I have actually been happy with the game releases so far. Mordor looks good. Alien looks good. I will likely get the Master Chief collection. Some old games were extremely buggy on release, and remasters would be great. I would love to see an updated Temple of Elemental Evil (I can dream). Bring on Planescape Torment!

Few years back I bought a Dungeons and Dragons Anthology Collection that included Baldurs Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, Temple of Elemental Evil, Planescape Torment, and all the expansions for BG and IWD. It was only 20 bucks and runs well on modern PCs. Sadly ToEE wouldn't even run for me. However, quite the steal of 20 bucks for all that. I got it mainly for PS:T which I have heard so many great things about. This reminds me that I need to get around to playing through it.

Hmm... I'm going to take this as "what do you think about remastered/HD remixes in general"
Well.
I think that they are interesting additions to the games. It's a lot like a mod to me. It expands on the game, or it reinterprets the game. It really depends on the particular situation as to whether or not it's worth it to get the game. I'm looking forward to the re-release of Grim Fandango, though it's still you know... different than the original one.

I think that the remasters are an interesting idea, and I'd like to see them done more. I'd also like to see more interaction with the fan made extensions for games. I think that it's kinda like the process of house ruling and errata in D&D. Eventually these two processes need to communicate to keep the relevance of the game at hand. I think that the interaction between the player base and the game developers needs to be more open and responsive.

So... mostly positive?
I don't see much bad about them anyway.
