When you are running: Marathon, to work, zombie apocalypse, what do you usually think about? Do you just concentrate on moving your legs back and forth, or do you let your mind wander and drift?
Depends on where I'm running and what I'm running on. Oftentimes, I'll think about whatever I associate my music with. Without music, I drift in and out (with a slowly increasing focus on "damn I'm exhausted").
I like to keep my eyes ahead and try to be aware of my surroundings. If I'm in a familiar area I'd do a few parkour moves when possible. Always thinking about the next move.
I just sort of let my mind wander and wherever it goes it goes. Either that or "fuck I wish they made running shorts that didn't become itchy after the first few miles"
When I was in High School track, I usually watched 2 movies to get motivated to run. If I was doing sprints, I usually watched 28 days later. If I wanted to do Long Distance, I usually watched the Chronicles of Riddick.
Well normally I listen to music zone out and watch nature go by.
But sometimes I think about converstains I wish I could have with people. Real or not real it doesnt matter, the hot girl sitting next to me in class, Abe Lincoln or just some made up person. Sometimes I put my self in the place of a character from a movie or game. Like If I was actually commander Shepherd what would I actually do and say to all these situations.
its pretty fun and gets me out of thinking about the real worlds problems
I'm thinking about the next person I'm gonna stab or the people that are chasing me following the stabbing of their family member or friend. That or baking...
I let my mind wander on . . . well, hell, even I'm not sure where it wanders when I run. I just let it go and zone out until I get to where I'm going (or until I knock someone over on the sidewalk, depending).
