Everyone has an opinion on this one.
Remember though, this is the greatest of ALL time...not just the latest in your favorite series.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

It's still an amazing game today, but when it was released it was blinding.

Chess by far. The more simple a game the better, too many rules and the game is less of strategy and more of manipulation of rules.

For me, it's Link to the Past, although that probably has more to do with nostalgia than anything else. Second is Portal. Fun puzzles + brilliant atmosphere + massive LOLZ at GLaDOS=Super Happy Fun Times. That's probably the more valid choice, but I have to go Link to the Past cause of all the nostalgia.

Quake 2... its expansion packs were amazing too, but nothing has blown my mind in the gaming world quite so much to date.

Actually Tennis for Two was the first video game.
Hmm. Sounds like they're the exact same thing with a different title lol. Still, I think Pong was notably more popular and thus deserves respect from all gamers.

Tennis for two had a side on view as opposed to a top-down for Pong. It was played on an occiliscope.
