What do you think of Gamestop's selection?

I have to say, I used to absolutely love how every time I wandered into my local Gamestop, they'd have almost any game I'd ever want...but lately...I've gone in there more and more only to be disappointed. And even on their website they don't have some of the games I'm looking for. What do you think? Do you usually rely on them or do you prefer to go to other sources? And for the record, this is probably the best Gamestop for quite a ways. If they don't have a game, they end up having to refer me to one over 20 miles away half the time.

They always have a great selection with cheap prices. The customer service is fantastic as well. They almost always have the game I'm looking for, and if they don't I just go to Amazon.

I've not had to much of a problem with them. They have most all of the games I want to buy.

Though, not to long ago, I had to run to a total of 4 different stores to get what I wanted (long story). But it was a good chance to have some time to myself and think.

I will admit the customer service at mine is about as good as it gets. I know every person there on a first name basis and they're always friendly and helpful. It just seems like lately they're having trouble getting a hold of a lot of games.

I have good luck with my local Gamestop, but then again my brother's a manager there, and he's one of those people who live, sleep, eat, and breathe games. Thus, he always ensures that they have whatever i might want.

Eh, they're neither the best nor the worst where I live. Their used section is boring and they don't always have what I'm looking for, but then other times they'll have exactly what I need (had to check out three different stores to find Vanquish on release).

Of course, there's also the site.

Oh god, the site.

Unless I'm looking for a pc game that isn't major popular game I usually try the target within walking distance of the gamestop I usually go to.

The customer service is pretty good at the Gamestops here. I've had people search high and low if they have something I want in stock, one guy even gave me a decent reccomendation based on my favourite games. But the selection is often lacking a little. Especially on the older consoles, most of the games are oversold good games (that I usually have at this point, such as the Jaks), sports games, movie based games, and other lower-rated games I would have no business with. If there are good games there that I don't have, they go very quickly. I don't look online since I might as well go on eBay at that point. Current gen they have some good ones. Nothing that would make me go "WOW, they ACTUALLY have it?" but a tried-and-true selection of decent games new and old. Makes me wonder why they have the PS3 version of Bayonetta more than twice the price of the 360's (seeing as the 360 has the FAR superior version) but I guess that's what eBay is for.

You call the 20 mile away place and ask them to send it to a more local place. I did this to get Persona 1 on PSP.

Anyway, my Gamestops are alright.

Last time I attempted that it was more headache than it was worth...however, it WAS a notoriously bad Gamestop. So I suppose it's worth another shot with a different one.

The system works and my Gamestop employees aren't crappy people. I'm sorry if you've had trouble.

I usually shop on Amazon for most of my gaming needs, but i am on friendly terms with the two gamestop locations near me. Good guys, and very friendly, but i got tired of getting gutted games as new. Not the employees fault, so if im going to get a gutted game i politely decline and get it online. They have always been very accomodating to me.

They usually have what I want, unless I'm looking for odd stuff like "Skies of Arcadia" on Gamecube.

And they'll usually point me in the direction of a store that has it.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
they tend to have a good selection of console games but their pc selection sucks, frys is the best place for games since they have awesome selections but fry's stores are few and far between

They have a good selection, but when I forget to look up which store has the game I'm looking for it can get annoying. Why would you build a gamestop across the street from another gamestop? Then have two more in the mall and one right outside it. I wouldn't be suprised to walk into a bathroom and have there be a gamestop. Then have there be another gamestop in that gamestop.

I used to like their selection but then they stop selling Xbox games. Also I miss them selling used DVDs. (found some nice deals)

Besides that they always have what I want.

Yea....they do go pretty bonkers when it comes to that. I think part of it is because there used to be EB Games close to Gamestops to have a rivalry sort of thing. But then Gamestop bought them out so they just have two locations close to each other for no real good reason...

They've always had what I'm looking for, save for the few times I check to see if they have an older game (PSX/PS2/Gamecube). When it comes to upcoming games, they've got it all, so generally I'm happy.

I've never been one to trade in old games, but having the option is finally something I'll be making use of. Trading in two or three old games to pre-order Assassin's Creed Revelations, ESV or Battlefield 3 is pretty sweet. Should save me at least some money for this upcoming busy release holiday.
