Hit and miss, just like a lot of other sequels. I like it to some extent, everyone else seemes to hate it.

More interesting is this badly-worded ad:

Not cool, I don't want my friends breaking into my house to play my games!
Uuh.. thanks for your valuable input?

Half the feelings of BioShock 1 was the idea that you were a newcomer. Big daddies are far from newcomers to Rapture, so half the atmosphere is wiped out. I disapprove.

Well, considering how well made the first game was, it really didn't need a sequel. But in these troubled economic times, who wouldn;t love the idea of the Bishock gravy train heading into Profit City. The gasoline to power said train? A sequel.

This is less about pleasing the fans, and more about making money off the fans blinded with anticipation they buy the game without researching or renting it first.

Despite that though, I'm looking forward to it nonetheless. I'm just going to be much more wary this time around.

Meh, It's interesting but nothing huge.

Here's my way to spice up the game.

No more little sisters, change them to strippers. Next, no big daddy but rather just a normal dude with an arsenal of weapons. Have the guy voiced by Bruce Campbell. Keep the original storyline of Bioshock but add twists ofcourse. Have a minor Big Daddy segment, but not too long. Add BFG's and add nudity.

There, a multi-million dollar formula.

The thing that annoys me about the Big Daddy concept is that you're the "first" Big Daddy. I mean, how stupid is that? What's been happening, you've been lying on the ground for ten years?

But I still have my hopes raised high.

I couldn't even force myself to finish the first game, so I'm not going to bother with this one. I finished about 75% of the first but that's something for another thread.

My first reaction when I read that you could play as a big daddy was: Why would you ever play as a big daddy? They're limited to either a melee attack or some nail gun and the ability to throw things.(I think it was a nail gun, can't remember) Sure, even with the limited possibilities of that you could add fixed areas to change your weapon.
When I saw that you get magic... Why? What's the point of it? Yeah, you're some special big daddy, isn't that great. Why can't later big daddy models use magic? It would certainly help it's ability to protect the little sisters.

Hell, it would have made more sense if they made the big daddy you play as some form of experimental one. One designed to replace the little sisters. Strong ADAM collector with some minor magic abilities to protect itself. Being an experiment, it would make sense that you don't exactly behave like a regular big daddy.

I would type more, but I'm tired so I hope this explained what I was trying to say.

One, it's plasmids not magic
Two, you are an experiment. You are a prototype Big Daddy, the first one. You were locked away somewhere for years because your creators couldn't control you and make you protect the little sisters.

I dont see how its not going to work. Im looking forward to learning a bit more about the backstory of the game. I dont know what others are expecting the game to do, looks like the same formula of the first.

I honestly think Bioshock should of stayed as a singular standalone game. That said, I think playing as a prototype Big Daddy and a sort of Little Sister Saviour has merit, I just hope it doesn't turn into a huge action fest.

One thing that I found important in the first game was the human element, you were a normal guy who needed to adapt to the situation, playing as a Big Daddy takes that element away. I mentioned that playing as a Big Daddy had merit? Well only from a gameplay standpoint, from a storyline perspective it'll be hard to care about him.

I'm also not a fan of going back to Rapture. It was unique the first time, the second time it'll just feel like we're going through the motions. Even the prospect of walking on the sea floor outside doesn't excite me.

To summerize, this sequel doesn't need to exist. But it does because 2K want it so, we'll see how it turns out.

No, it is magic. Maybe you don't drink magic potions or cast spells, but you have an EVE bar with restoratives and unexplainable, elemental abilities. You can cover it with the blanket of soft-scifi, but it's still magic at it's heart.

Anyway, Bioshock 2. Too soon, also seems a bit misguided.

In my opinion, ether they're going to screw it up, horribly, or their going to do it well and it will be amazing.
