The third title in the Gears of War series is likely [http://www.vgreleases.com/Xbox360/ReleaseDate-78212.aspx] to be released some time at the end of this year and I'm fairly excited for it already. I managed to sink a lot of time into the first game although unfortunately the second didn't manage to hold my attention for long. I'm still a pretty big fan of the series though and am looking forward to the third title with a healthy dose of glee and excitement. There might not be a third game, it hasn't officially been announced, but I doubt that Epic would just drop the franchise like that.
Anyway, what do you folks that want to play Gears 3 want from it?
Me, I want them to get rid of the terrible matchmaking system they had in number two or at the very least increase to the quality of MW2 and the Halo games. That thing should never have been released in it's original state. I'd also like for them to get rid of those knock back/knock down smoke grenades. Seemed like a really cheap method for getting kills and while you could dodge em, that usually meant getting out from cover which usually ain't too bright.
I'd also like for people to select casual games from a list like in the first game, rather than casual games being regulated to people off your friends list. Being able to host a casual match and allow for strangers to join it seems to be a rare thing on many modern console games and it is a damn shame. Sure, you can get a game with just your friends going but they can be a hassle to get started and when people start leaving they can be hard to stock back up. You also don't meet any new people that way.
I can't think of anything I want in the new campaign except for maybe the standard sequel changes like new guns, enemies, characters etc. I hope that this Carmine gets a more dignified death but I doubt that will happen.
