I remember in the 1990s and early 2000s these space flight simulator games were everywhere. Like freelancer, wing commander, Privateer, and many other of these games were coming out in the 1990s and 2000s. Now I would like to know why are there so very little of them out? What happened?

I dont know but I hope they make a come back. We now have VR tech that can emulate the real world, not to mention that video game physics and hardware keeps becoming better and better. Think about it, imagine piloting the apolo 11 mission with an oculus rift. You could pilot your own designs like in kerbal space program, but with a much more in depth and simulation focus to it. You would be able to truly see space, expore mars, the moon or any other planet in our solar system and beyond.
