Pandemic Studios closed down, and I don't think LucasArts has any interest in it (or else it would have been out by now).
Star Wars: Battlefront 3 doesn't look like it'll come out any time soon. I'd just forget about it.
Edit: I really want Battlefront 3, though.

Free Radical, who were in charge of development, went into admin and reformed as Crytek UK. This also caused development on Timesplitters 4 to be put into limbo as well.
Personally, I think any company taking charge of Battlefront 3 should make sure that the game will be epic. The previous games were supposed to feel that way but just...didn't.

Occasionally rumors of Rebellion working on it pop up, but it's unlikely as Rebellion are already working on other things. They did make Elite Squadron for the PSP, so maybe there's hope.
Crytek bought out what was left of Free Radical, but it seems that aside from man power they haven't taken much from the deal. You'd have thought they would have taken up some method of getting Free Radical's running projects as well, but I guess TimeSplitters 4 and Battlefront 3 didn't show enough money making potential.
After I heard pandemic died I kinda knew that battlefront 3 would probably go into lockdown. I like one and two and I thought three would just be great but it's probably never going to be realized until much later. It's kinda sad but like battlefront was like the first shooting game I liked.

I never liked the other two... They seemed like crappy Battlefield knock offs with Star Wars characters. I even bought the first Battlefront, but had to stop playing after a week because it just became dull. I played the second at my friend's house and it felt exactly the same, even though I was now playing on console.
Don't get me wrong. Star Wars: Battlefield Knock Off sounds like a great idea. But I didn't feel it was executed well.

In between all of this there was a phone call to Lucasarts that confirmed the game. GameStop hire ups also confirmed the game and it was posted on there website a few times.
So in short ... no one knows a god damned thing about the game.
I think about it every now and then and it almost makes me cry.

Huh. I didn't know it was a knockoff of battlefield. Never played that game. But if it has that basic human solider on world war 2 thing going for it I know why. I don't like games like that. There visually unstimulating. Although it's kinda shallow I kinda like star wars because it makes something basic like shooting people and puts some pizazz by making it in space with aliens and laser guns. That and I just like star wars a whole lot.
I loved both Battlefronts, but I think that they stop development on it. Don't let any leaked videos, screenshots, or art fool you.
