As the title says. What game have you been unable to put down in order to sleep the longest and how long was it?

For me, I've gone more than 24 hours without sleep on numerous occasions to play a game so I don't really remember. I've know that I've done it to play the Tales series of games quite a few times though.

The longest game I've ever played in a single session is Fallout New Vegas, which stands at about 28 hours. Just so much fun to play it, and the only reason I was able to do it was because I had the house to myself for the week. 20 years old and I still have a bedtime... >.>

Second one is probably Kirby's Triple Deluxe because for some odd reason I can't seem to put it down.

Not very special but me and a friend often play League until half 4 in the morning. It's a bizarre time where all manner of things can happen... We actually have as much fun losing as we do winning which is not something you should hear anybody playing a MOBA say.

I cannot stay up 24/7. I'll be up until 6am so it's technically up all night but then i'll go to bed even if it's only for an hour or two until I have to get up again.

I once played through all of Borderlands 1 in one sitting with a friend, it took 17 hours. We started our session by finishing our first run, and then we did the entire ng+ (including all/most of the bounty board quests iirc, it's hazy)

Resident Evil 3 and Coder Veronica had my best friend and I trying to pull all nighters every Friday(age 10). Of course we would probably pass out around 2 but damn it we tried.

The same goes for the Syphon Filter trilogy and when it came to one and two we actually did manage to stay up all night...it was in vain however seeing how with Syphon Filter 2 we were stuck in like the middle section of the game or with the first one we were stuck trying to figure out just how the hell we were supposed to kill the final boss(turns out it was the dumbest way possible)

Okay outside of the sleepovers of my childhood I can only think of two games that kept me up.

The first being

Dishonored - I really just liked just coming home and kicking my feet and turning it on and sneaking around. I found the game to be pretty calming.

And then there was Gears of War 3 - Stayed up till 4 am with the same friend just determined to beat this macho throbbing grey turd so I could trade it in and get most of my money back (they were only going to give me 20 bucks for a game that was only a week old...)
We certainly beat the hell out of that game and I can hardly remember a thing about it other than how Marcus was the ultimate exposition world building cock block.

I like my games but not enough to play them 24 hours straight. Longest in one sitting was probably guild wars 2 but not because its a great game. It was because one of the Arah dungeon paths took a very long time, no one wanted to quit, as the owner of the instance I could not leave without getting everyone kicked (stupid, stupid system) and that was going to be finale thing before I went to sleep since I expected it to take an hour at most. I don't know how long that was exactly though. I think I ended up going to sleep at around 4 in the morning.

Europa Universalis IV. I just couldn't stop until I had annexed most of the surrounding region.

Civilization. Frequent allnighters often that I didn't expect. The longest that I'm aware of is sixteen hours at a time..

Same for me. Just need to finish this war... just need to get that province... just need to pay off this loan... Just need enough monarch points for the next tech/idea level...

Skyrim holds my record. On the day it came out I played for about sixteen hours straight. So much fun! Some other higher up ones are Civ 5 at ten hours, Sims 3 at ten hours, and Oblivion at twelve.

Way back in the 90s when I was a kid, I played Heavy Gear (I think it was that one) and WarCraft in multiplayer mode with buddies for like 15-17 hours, taking some short breaks and eating, but mostly just doing that.

I probably did similar lengths playing Final Fantasy II (SNES). In my adult life I probably have done 9-14 hours in a day playing Dwarf Fortress, Civilization 5, Skyim, Fallout New Vegas, and World of WarCraft. But now I take more frequent breaks and try not to do so much in a single sitting.

Quite a few have managed to do that, and they often go into my Sovngarde category of greatest games on Steam. (lol)

I've never skipped sleep for a game, but I have stayed up till 5 in the morning before. Dota 2, The Witcher 1/2, Skyrim, Portal 2 (I know its short but I finished it in one day), Dark Souls 1/2 come to mind.

Well Baldur's Gate 2 caused me to miss a calculus midterm once, though fortunately I was able to make it up later. It also kept me up more than 3 hours past when I intended to go to sleep (same playthrough too) so I'd say its a strong contender. I also stayed up pretty late playing Dark Souls 2 when it first came out, so I suppose those are the big two for me.

When I first got Skyrim at the midnight launch, I apparently played it for two days straight.
Then I laid down and slept for 16 hours.
My girlfriend was worried I might be dead.

Ah the girlfriend problems, oh hohoho.

GF on text message: Goodnight darling, I'm gonna go to sleep, don't stay up too late alright, I know you just got Dark Souls 2.

Me: Okay, don't worry, I'm going to sleep now. (EVIL LAUGH)

The next day at 5 AM,

GF: Good morning dear.

Me: Good morning~

GF: My goodness, you got up as early as me today? I hope you got enough sleep.

Me: Oh I did, I did. (EVIL LAUGH)

Don't really know how long exactly, but I have probably played all of these games for more than 12 hours straight:

Skyrim
Morrowind
Civilization 4
WoW

But WoW definitely tops the chart from when I basically grinded/quested straight to level 85 after Cata released (I picked it up at midnight). Don't know the longest single stretch, but it took about two-and-a-half to three days with virtually no sleep and only short meal/bathroom breaks.
