So it's pretty easy with just a quick forum search to find any number of threads about games that caught a nasty case of sequelitis, i.e. "Ooh! A sequel to [insert great game here! DO WANT!" ... "Wow, this is shit."

But what about those games that you think deserved a sequel that for whatever reason, never got one? Or games that received a sequel, but on that was so mangled you think it deserved a new try at making a proper one? For myself, I'd have to go with Beyond Good and Evil 2...which, yes, I know is technically in the works, but I happen to love the first one so much that I think it's almost criminal that Ubisoft let the property sit for as long as it did in the first place.

So what are the games that, in your opinion, missed out on a sequel, or deserve a second chance to get a sequel that actually works?

Legend of Dragoon would be my top. I'm also waiting for the Mirror's Edge sequel, which I've heard is in development, so I'm pretty happy.

Plancescape: Torment - Not a direct sequel, mind you. I'd simply love more games in the Planescape setting. And if it had to be a direct sequel, there's still plenty to work with since the Nameless One got shipped off to fight in the Blood War.

Warcraft 3 - I'd love more RTS goodness from Blizz in this regard, though WoW has butchered the Warcraft lore into fine past by this point. Maybe a retcon of events from WoW, or perhaps an RTS version of the WoW storyline...

Vampire: The Masquerade - Again, not a direct sequel to any of the V:TM games, but rather more of them. Heck, I'd even go for some set in the New World of Darkness despite it being only a pale copy of the old one.

Warhammer: Dark Omen - One of the best RTS games ever. I demand more of Commander Bernhardt and the Grudgebringers! Also, don't you dare mention Mark of Chaos here. That pile of crap doesn't deserve mention...

Dragonseeds [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonseeds]

That game would make a damn good portable game.

Wasn't there a Nightmare Creatures II? Or does that fall into the "so bad, it needs a second chance" category?

Warcraft 3 and KotOR 2.
And no, neither WoW or The Old Republic are true sequels.

IF there was either i haven't heard of it or thanks to Resident Evil it was overshadowed.
