What game should be re-made, updated graphics and all that jazz, but keep the same story and the same characters and game mechanics? Such as the example of Pokemon Gold or Castle Wofenstein?
Mine would probably be Lord of the Rings: the Third Age on Gameboy or PS2. A lot of people dissed it and claim they're not very good, but I honestly enjoy them both a lot, and wouldn't mind remakes of them :)

I'm going to say the same one I say in every thread like this.

Legend of Dragoon

EDIT: Right. Why? Because it had a very good story that would really benefit from better graphics. Plus the additions system was fantastic.

I read the thread title and was like "I'm gonna say Legend of Dragoon, 'cause nobody else will." But nope! First comment did.

So yes. LEGEND OF DRAGOON.

Final Fantasy VI. No, I'm not missing a numeral, I meant good-ol' SNES FFVI.

People need to see that that game DOES NOT and I repeat DOES NOT hold up the way they think it does in ANY category. Soundtrack, graphics, gameplay, writing, nothing. It has most certainly aged. A remake could both fight and prove that.

Purely for nostalgia's sake, I want to see the first 4 sonic games remade in full glory. No effort spared, HD, Breathtaking gfx and settings..the whole shebang. THAT'S what I want.

Let's get REALLY old. After hearing a lot about them, I would like to see the old Ultima series redone. After hearing the Spoony One's retrospective about them, I got really interested in them and want to try them out...if i could find them, naturally.....

I think you guys sort of miss the point of a remake. You don't ask them to remake perfection. Plus a remake is almost never just a graphical update. Hey let's take these -already good games- and make them look pretty! ..oh and change the story a bit to conform to modern audiences. And you know? those characters seem kinda awkward by todays standards we need to change them too or people will complain.

No, I'm not going to mention a game that was already fantastic at the time. I'm voting for pure potential.

Quest 64 needs a remake. It has a lot of potential to be fleshed out in a remake. And I think it needs it.

They remade IV for the PSP. It's been released aleady in Japan and is being released Tuesday in the U.S.

I haven't heard anything about a remake of VI, although it would be nice.

Age of Empires III. Because I feel that the game did not live up, or expand on its predecessor. The game is about EMPIRES; not colonies. The game should have given the user more unique characters, should have kept the same hockeys and basic building types, better (and more classic) historical campaigns, and a wider spectrum of eras the game would play out in. This probably, for me, one of the biggest disappointments in gaming.

Matrix Software developed remakes of III and IV for the original DS, and more were planned, but basically the DS died too soon for it to happen, and now they're considering whether to do it for 3DS, but are running into "technical problems", such as being idiots and not realizing drooling fanboys would eat a VI remake faster than chocolate on top of tits. They would also leave V remakes to dust on the shelf. . .like they should. Because VI is vastly over rated, but V is just unqualified shit.

There's a GBA version.

I'd like to see a remake of Devil May Cry 2. I can tell just from the way they've made it the canonical last in the series just so they don't have to acknowlege the events of it they aren't proud of it, it'd be great if they could go back and do it properly this time.

I absolutely agree... that it should be remade. As far as I'm concerned, the remake of IV held up just great, and VI would do the same.

This so much. That combat system was one of the best I've seen, and it needs to be in a better game.

There's a Doom 3 mod that practically remakes Doom, it was in an issue of PC Powerplay, it looked quite good!

^ That's it I'm fairly certain.

I would love if they remade Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on this new system Nintendo is making. Exact same gameplay and story just updated graphics. Would be hella awesome. Would totally restore my love for Nintendo.
