Alot of games are over and under rated in the gaming market. I personally noticed this after Halo kept on getting tens despite the fact it didn't do anything new to the fps genre, or when Gears of War got 10's and just plain out sucked and cussed every three and a half seconds to make up for it. But the worst thing about over rated games is that they over shadow all the other ones, thus they become under rated games. Such as Section 8 which has multiplayer which I believe is far superior to Halo's and Fracture which didn't have a good story or graphics but was just plain out fun and multiplayer was pretty sweet, despite the fact nobody plays it. As a matter of fact these over rated games over shadow some extravagant games too such as Half Life, I didn't even know that Half-Life existed until a couple of months ago. So tell me are there any games anybody else think are overrated, or do you think there have been any other games that are hidden within Halo's humongous ego right now.

I really don't think Half-Life was under-rated; I've never even played it but I've been hearing about it for years. It doesn't seem like many people on this haven't heard of it either.
Under-rated game, I'd say Fallen Earth, an mmorpg. It's just been released, but it's insanely good!

you say Halo is over rated, and then mention Section 8 as under rated... I'm pretty certain that Section 8 is as bout as close you can get to Halo clone as you can get.

Anyways, I think the whole idea of over/under rated to be very pointless, as in the end, it's just an observation of people's opinions and reactions, rather than of the quality and content of the product itself.

In my opinion Halo as a trilogy is actually quite descent as is the expanded lore and the same goes for Gears of War which I also found pretty fun to play.
I am going to say I think CoD is overrated but of course that is just my opinion, I cannot prove this, this is just how I feel. Also would have to be Ninja Gaiden as I prefer hack n slash games like Otogi: Myth of Demons.
Which represents the game I find great but underrated... Otogi.

Over rated, personally, I didn't really like either Fable game. Didn't really appeal to me I guess.
