I recently started up the original Rainbow Six, and was actually pleasantly surprised.

I was going into it expecting to remember my play through's when I used to play it years ago, but I actually found it to still offer some awesome, intense unforgiving game play that most modern games simply don't have anymore.

From there I went on to BF1942, and actually spent about 4 hours on it.

What are your favorites/suggestions?

Lesse, I'd have to say I often have a nostalgic moment whenever I dig my Sega Genesis out of the box and play some Jungle Strike. The opening theme for it is still epic to this day, and I seriously want a real instrumental version of it. Tempted just to learn how to play guitar just to make my own.

Well, I haven't seen this topic before.

Sarcasm aside, I still break out the Blizzard classics now and then.

Noitu Love 2. [http://www.konjak.org/section.php?section=noitu2] :) It's a modern indy game made to resemble the most awesome action pixel side-scrollers of yester-year. It's crazy fun, brutal hard (esspecially on hard mode your first time through), and way-WAY fun. :)

Contra, I can consistently beat it without dying. The second quest with double speed bullets and enemies is a bit harder though....

I was in heaven when the contra for the DS had unlockable old school Contra in it.

I just recently re-played "LoZ: Ocarina of Time" for the first time in years. While its still an amazing game, it seemed smaller/less epic that the first time i played it. When i first played it, it seemed to take days to complete temples. Now, i breezed through them in a half- hour or so. Although, unlike the first time i played it, i did every side-quest and found every secret i could.

A friend and I broke out Super mario World and completed 100%...Following that we did the same to Super Mario 64...Felt better playing those than most games that come out anymore...

I still just go and play HL1, or even the later Hl2 just because they are awesome. And their awesomeness still stands.

Hmmmm, nearly anything from N64 i'd play again, but one game that draws me in every now and then is Metal Gear Solid 1 (now days i prefer MGS 3, but i don't really think thats old enough to count). oh, and in the future i predict Stubbs the Zombie might hit my nostalgia button as well.
