What IP should Telltale make into a game next?

With the huge success of The Walking Dead, and The Wolf Among Us, Telltale's riding on a bit of a high right now.

My question to you is as follows: What non-gaming IP do you want to see Telltale to create a game out of next? And before you all scream "But they're busy! TWD: Season 2! The Wolf Among Us!" I mean, "What should they do after they're done with those two?" TWD: Season 2 is...well, TWD: Season 2, and TWAU's prequel status precludes a sequel (Telltale also completely disregarded the source material with TWAU, although disclosing why would amount to major spoilers for the game's first episode.)

As for me: I'd like to see Telltale stick with Vertigo Comics and make a game out of DMZ.

For those of you not in the know about DMZ, it is a comic book series written by Brian Wood, and illustrated by Riccardo Burchielli that centers around Matty Roth, a rookie photojournalist dropped into Manhattan alongside a Pulitzer Prize winner, to document the ongoing civil war in the US, of which Manhattan is the DMZ. Upon arrival, everyone on their helicopter but Matty is killed, making him the only journalist on the inside. The basic thrust of the comic book is his life inside Manhattan.

And, while Matty is an interesting character, the series is perhaps more interesting when it focuses other than Matty. Case in point: There is a strong argument to be made that the series's best trade paperback is "Friendly Fire", a collection of issues focusing on the trial of soldiers responsible for the massacre of 198 peace protesters, and while Matty is involved in the story arc, it rather focuses on two of the soldiers involved.

Another possible source material rip Telltale could do is "The Hidden War", a trade paperback consisting of vignettes about different people in the city, akin to the 400 Days DLC.

Or they could do something entirely different. I don't know.

So what are your thoughts on what Telltale's next move should be?

I remember Telltale said they want to do a Mad Men game.
While I have no idea how they would do it, I'd love to see that.

If they keep making games based on comic licenses, then I'd love to see their take on Preacher or Saga!
With Preacher, they can tell the story of Cassidy's journey before his meeting with Jesse. And a spin off of Saga universe, that'd be sweet!

More Sam & Max please. I miss that crazed duo and Telltale was really hitting their stride with that series before they stopped with Season 3.

More please!

Or perhaps Game of Thrones.
Hmm, I don't know.

The main strength of telltales was the human element of the story, even if the overarching plot was a bit iffy (and this is coming from someone who loves the Walking Dead). Games of Thrones needs a balance of both the human element and an overarching plot.

The Walking Dead also had the added bonus of having "ordinary people" as the main protagonists. It was also able to have a different cast of characters from the comic because the U.S was big and it was just as easy to appreciate and identify with them.

Compare that with Game of Thrones where it would be difficult to make a whole new cast of characters, and if they used a old cast, we would still know what would happen to them wouldn't we? They could try making a game in a whole other place, but that wouldn't be game of thrones anymore.

Then again the main strength of the walking dead was that it's appeal was about zombies and survivors struggling together and how human beings are still the most dangerous creature in zombie land. The Walking Dead game recreated that, but it also had a relationship between Lee and the other survivors that were far stronger than anything found in the comic.

Telltale might be able to pull off Game of Thrones, but I would be difficult. I would to see one though.

OT: I would prefer it if they continued with Walking Dead Season 2, but anything is fine with me.

Some remakes of JumpStart might cause me to squee.

Not that I'm committed to the idea. Just something the OP title made me think of.

There is a Doctor Who game. It's call The Eternity Clock and it's on Steam.
Just watched the trailer for it..... Looks like it sucks, but I'm going to buy it anyway because fuck it. It's doctor who.

I want a *GOOD* doctor who game though. Like give me a game like Arkham Asylum, but more Doctor than Batman.

Yeah it really isn't all that good. The platforming is frustrating and the puzzles are obnoxious and repetitive. And I don't know if I was supposed to complete it on hard to get the "true" ending or if the game is intended to be episodic, but the ending was... unsatisfying.

Huge spoiler to "The Wolf Among Us" inside:
I don't think they really disregarded the source material. I mean there are multiple references to the latter comic books in the game, e.g. axe to the head (Goldylocks, lol). And I don't really think they killed Snow White for good, as Telltale stated numerous times that TWAU is a prequel to Fables, and without Snow, there really could be no Fables.

On topic: It would be cool if they did Preacher. Or, just a crazy thought, game in Cowboy Bebop universe? Somehow I think it could be awesome.

Well, A Song of Ice and Fire does have a good-sized world and lore to work with, so I don't think that having some kind of prequel or side-story could be too out of the question.

Granted it'd probably be more complex than throwing a bunch of interesting people into a survivalist setting like The Walking Dead, but I'm admittedly intrigued by the idea.

How about Star Trek TNG? Their style lends itself really well to episodic tv shows for source material, and TNG is universally well regarded among fans, and the cast is still alive.
