What is that Power-up/Achievement/item that you worked incredibly hard for?

Question says it all. You have an achievement, power-up, or equipment/weapon that basically says "I've went through the fiery pits of Hell and back for this!".

I recently done a no-alert playthrough of Metal Gear Solid 4 to finally get that stealth camo. Did many do-overs an insane amount of times. I also did a no-kill playthrough for the bandana. That was also a *****. Also, the Marathon-Pro perk. I have to do this over and over again because I just hate playing Capture the Flag on any game.

It could be anything, really, as long you think you worked your fingers to the bone for it! Doesn't have to be lengthy.

Most recently My Blaster Runs Really Hot for Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.
It was the last one I needed for platinum and it seemed like an impossible feat. You had to get a score of at least 10.000 in a Quark old school mini-game. I always got game over around 6-7000. Once I hit 9300 and another time when I got really lucky 9620.

Took a few hours, and a lot of cursing, but I finally pulled it off when I managed to calm down and clear my head a bit. Didn't seem as hard then, but considering all the threads about it I saw on the internet it seems I wasn't the only one struggling my ass off for that one.

At the moment I'm pondering if I really want to collect the 179 treasures there are in Tomb Raider: Underworld, just for the platinum, or not.

That damn gnome... he was lost to me. When I got to the car area, I left it by the door where Alxy would come through, so i wouldn't need to take it with me, but I couldn't grab it, and the door closed. Never was I able to grab him, he was lost to me...

OT: I got through Episode 1 using only one bullet. That was really hard when you are trying to take down a bunch of Zombine with a crowbar (but very Gordon Freeman)

I beat the fucking Apprentice in Soul Calibur 4 with Yoda, thus unlocking him for my own use. It took me 50+ tries.

Probably Zombie Genocider in Left 4 Dead. 53,000+ kills. Not really hard, but took me hundreds of games to get. I must have run all 4 campaigns at least 75 times each, if not more (coughNoMercycough).

Though I never really TRIED to get it. When it did pop, it was a surprise, as I'd completely forgotten about it. I popped in L4D1 some time after 2 launched because I wanted to play the old campaigns again, got into a No Mercy game, and got about halfway down the Apartment building before BEEPBOOP achievement unlocked. I was like "....really, I stopped playing for 4 months and I was only about 20 kills away? Really?!"

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

I forgot the name of the achievement, but it's the one where you complete the Epilogue level in less than a minute on Veteran. Talk about insanely hard. Like, more-cursing-than-a-blue-shell hard. But I did it!

I know what you mean, I did it when WoodysGamertag made a live stream out of it I beat him to it and I started later than he did

Devil May Cry 3 on Dante Must Die mode. There is only one other game in the world that can invoke such rage, and that is Super Meat Boy. I've yet to finish that at all.

Really, the only annoyance for me there was fighting the hordes of antlions. Especially in the parking garage, their overwhelming numbers got a bit dire. GravGunning cars over them can only be effective for so long...

the hardest for me was getting Platinum on Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, after I forgot my password on my old account I never bothered to do it again but man did I swear while doing those challenges

Completing Devil May Cry on Dante Must Die mode without dying.

Now that's an achievement and I danced around the living room for 30 minutes after I did it. My missus gave me odd looks but it was well worth it.

I don't really hunt for achievements that much, I just usually get as many of the easier ones as possible
My most notable achievement would have to be Portal Conservation Society, where you have to complete a co-op level using just 5 portals, where normally you'd use about 10. Needless to say, many swears were uttered and many corners were cut.

Not really a achivement hunter but i did the Mile high club and it was a pain in the ass. Took forever.

That has to be the star 69 achivement in mw2. You know that last op where you run around in favela with only rpgs and thumpers? Well, I spent FOREVER on that last star, and you don`t want to know how many times I only had one left, then died.

Then the day after I finaly got it, someone found that cheesy tactic to beat it.

Lets just say I went computer shopping the next day

for me it was halo reach's "a monument to all your sins" which requires you to beat the game in LEGENDARY BY YOURSELF!!! not fun. at all. still worth it though.

hardest would have to be anything that has to do with watching tutorial videos in any game, I think those are the only achievements I have had to actually make myself do
