title I think speaks for itself.

I am saying this because I am moving to a new country within the next few days.

On purpose? Cutting ties with a lot of my old friends. It needed to be done even if unpleasant and bad... On accident? Oh jesus, I've almost killed myself a ton of times over I think.

My favorite was when I set the refrigerator on fire on accident, although almost getting my ears chopped off on an escalator was pretty close too I think.

Me and the guys went we where young and stupid decided to tip a few of the neighbours cows (farm stereotypes come from somewhere folks). Big mistake, almost got myself trampled by his horse.

Once, I broke into a guy's house, and he had a huge Risk[sup]TM[/sup] map laid out.

And I took it.

When I was a lot younger, I frequently walked along a wall that was high enough for the fall to kill me if I fell off. There was cool stuff at the end of the wall, though; you could get into somebody's house if you wanted. Aside from that, electrocution and boarding school.

While at the Grand Canyon, I several times stepped a little too close to the edge, or leaned over it. At least once I slipped on a gravel slope that essentially would have dropped me to my death if I had not immediately regained balance.

I moved 600-miles away from my home and family to take the 'long distance' part out of the relationship. Considering I'm still not making enough to live on my own if something horrible happens, (and could probably just barely afford to get back to my family), I still feel like I'm not quite in the green yet. I've been here for over a year now though so I should be fine at this point. Other than that, I can't think of any other risks I've taken outside of minor traffic-related risks...

Freeclimbed a 5.11c once, that was probably the riskiest, and stupidest thing I've ever done.

Well, I dropped out of college. I have yet to find out if this was a good choice or not. It isn't currently feeling like one, but if I can just find a job then hopefully things will start looking up. Seems it's a lot more difficult to get a job than I originally thought.

So your the bastard who stole my map!

Joking aside. My greatest risk is when using dry ice and 2lt soda bottles with water to scare people around a town I lives in.

I nearly had my ear chopped off as a kid by an escalator! I turned back to check out some store demo-ing a Sega CD! That taught me a pretty good lesson to not screw around on those things, had a bandage on my head for awhile until the stitches could be taken out.

Other than that, yeah jumped off a few stupidly high things whilst in high school, and even later on, attempted some too-fast-for-comfort rain drifts on freeway off ramps that probably weren't the best idea. Came out of all of those unscathed, so took it all as a message if you will. Although it was rolling off a cliff from swerving to miss a kangaroo that really sealed the deal, being upside down in a car with your brother makes you rethink the fragility of life somewhat (though that wasn't a voluntarily taken risk)

I'm not a risk taker.

The biggest risk I'm taking is probably doing what I do right now in terms of living my life. I'm deliberately living a life of poverty in favour of having more free time to simply have fun. What does this mean? Well I work part-time about 20 hours a week and live off less than 11,000 a year. I'm extremely poor but extremely happy. Been this way for a couple years now.

Probably a huge risk to my future.
Not exactly the excitement this thread was going for though :p

When I was younger, I used to be extremely confident in my tree climbing abilities. This got the point where every day, I would wait for my sister at her bus stop (I'm 4 years older than her, but I was still only about 12 at the time)and climb this one tree to pass the time. I would climb up so high that I would actually sway on the branch with the wind. Never thought anything of it at the time. Now, when I look at that tree, and think of how high up I was, I realize that if the branch ever snapped (quite possible since they were fairly thin up where I was), I would probably have broken a lot of bones at best, and straight up died at worst.

Hmmm, I would say leaving my job on the principle when I really didn't have a safety net. When you are young and stupid you do marvelous things out of sheer conviction that are equally marvelous and marvelously stupid.

But that is prolonged time risk. As for immediate life and limb danger there are plenty of things including dangerous climbs, edge walks etc but my favorite would be going downhill on a bicycle with failed brakes (didn't know they are faulty at the time). Went over the curve and smacked my back on the wall while upside down, just like in a cartoon. Luckily nothing really happened to me and I got away with sore back for a few days.

When I was in a China, I was going from Sanxiang to Chengdu. The trip involved a bus first to Guangzhou, then a flight. However, as the bus was about to leave (I was sitting on it and everything) I realized that I'd forgotten my passport. I had to go back to my apartment for it, which meant getting a later bus. This also meant having less time than ideal to get from the bus station in Guangzhou to the airport.

When I got to Guangzhou, I jumped off the bus and ran to the nearest bus station staff with my passport and my Mandarin-English dictionary, pointing at the words "airport", "taxi" and "fast". I wanted them to point me in the direction of an official taxi and be quick about it (I thought there was bound to be some that serviced the bus station) but they misinterpreted me. They named a price (a bit much but I paid it) and then two of them waved at me to follow them... to their car.

They intended to drive me to the airport themselves.

And I went along with it.

Probably the dumbest thing I've ever done. I was alone, I didn't speak Mandarin... they could have killed me under a bridge and taken everything I had. Thank goodness they were genuine and actually did just drive me to the airport rather quickly. I checked in to the airport with 15 minutes to spare.

Never forget your passport kids! Or trust strangers with your life, but I survived this one.

Do you ever get bored?
I finished working the notice for my job the other week and the first few days were ok, relaxing, getting up at midday etc, but after that I got restless.
Everyone is at work so I have nobody to talk to and all there really is to do is play on my computer.

Yeah you gotta be careful!
I know a Bosnian girl that went home to visit family. She got a taxi from the airport but then the driver made her pay double and threatend to not give her luggage in the boot/trunk to her.

That's how I feel right now.
Part of me is worried that it could all go wrong but then the other part of me is confident and relishing the challenges I will have to face.
Gunna miss my friends and family but it will be exciting to meet new people as well.

... Skydiving?

I dunno. You talk about moving, but I've done that a lot.
Travelled through asia staying in the places the locals did... But that was when I was a child. May actually have caused longterm health issues, thinking about it. I got violently ill in India when I was quite young, which can't have been good.

Not really my decision as such though. - My mum is the one who decided to do that. (And travel alone, with a young child through several muslim countries too... Some of which were... Troubled. Great idea... >_<)

I mean, there's lots of little things, but nothing much that really sticks with me.
I don't like taking obvious risks, but having said that I probably haven taken many in life.
much travelling. A few extreme sports. Questionable decisions around scary people...
Moving long-distance with next to no resources and little to fall back on...

Flying lessons... XD

Walking around by myself late at night (apparently that's dangerous if you're a girl?)

At this point I'm not really sure what I've done that is (or isn't) risky...
