I am just watching the empire strikes back and I wondered what people thought. The star destroyer is pretty amazing looking in my opinion.

Thoughts?

Star Destroyers never really impressed me. In the Star Wars universe, I always liked the streamlined look of the A-Wing, and the odd design of a B-wing really was interesting.

In general, Serenity will always hold a special place in my heart, as will the Normandy.

Red Dwarf and the Normandy.

Red Dwarf because it's realistic for a ship that would never enter atmosphere, jagged etc.

The Normandy just because :)

If you count it as a spaceship, then the TARDIS. A hundreds of years old bio-mechanical organism that's bigger on the inside then it is on the outside and can instantly travel to any point in time or space. Permanently trapped in the form of a British police box from 1963. There's nothing about that sentence that isn't badass.

Alternatively if that doesn't count, my vote goes for the Destiny from Stargate Universe. It's over a few thousand years old and it's been flying at FTL speeds for most of that time so it's currently several billion lightyears and something around a dozen galaxies away. And the design of the thing is fantastic. If I knew how to post images I would, but rest assured, you need to Google Image search that.

Can't go wrong with the Millenium Falcon! Or the Red Dwarf!

... unless of course, the Tardis counts as a spaceship

The Millennium falcon for looking so weird but if I'm honest it was the huge ships from Independence Day that struck me as incredibly imposing and awe-striking more than any other since.

Moya and Talyn, the Leviathan living ships from Farscape (Talyn even had guns)

Also, I agree with Destiny from SGU and the Galactica from BSG!

X-wing. Forever and ever, the X-wing.

Honorable mentions: B-wing (man, I wish we actually got to see that thing fight in Return of the Jedi) and Star Furies from Babylon 5. If you've seen one, you should be able to figure out why it gets an honorable mention (hint: see favorite ship)

I liked the Ebon Hawke.

It was small, cramped, battered, beaten, the paint was scratched, it crashed so many times and there were a lot of battles inside of it but damn if I didn't love it. It had history and infamy and when you stuffed it with companions, it actually felt a little cosy (when they weren't trying to kill each other). Also, it's one of the fastest ships in the galaxy, to quote the Exile.
