Has there been any indication of why the planet behind him is Blue if you're a paragon, and red if you're not? I understand that those colors are representative of paragon and renegade, but why is the planet behind him reactive to Shepard's choices? Maybe it's like a holographic MRI or something; a constant link into Shepard's mind. Any thoughts, guys?

I never noticed that...

Although I to am curious about the planet.
It doesn't seem like a gas giant, and its not bright enough to be a star...

Confusing indeed, I wonder if its nature will be revealed in Mass Effect 3.

You do realize that the whole (ME3 spoilers) goes BEFORE the spoiler right?

Thank you. And good night.

Looks like it's just some star/lava planet. I never took much care into finding out. Nice too look at the thing, though.

I'm pretty sure he meant there will be spoilers in the thread. The fact that there's a planet behind the IM isn't a spoiler. It's shown in trailers.

But see, thats the point, i don't watch trailers. Because i don't want to see any of a game until i play it. I know its a personal quirk, but still, i don't want to have to avoid my favorite website, just because it hasn't been more than a month since the launch of a major plot-centric game.

And you'd be surprised what my brain can do with a few words and a name like "illusive man".

It might be a 'threat meter' - though I've only played paragon so far, I only noticed it being completely blue in the cutscene at the end of the game. In this case the blue would indicate the immediate threat is nullified (even though the big bad is still out there)

I think we can safely say the planet's changing color is purely symbolic. Give Bioware a break, they've written an in-depth explanation for just about every insignificant bit of sci-fi trivia in the game; I think we can attribute this to artistic license for once.

If that's your quirk, you adapt to it. Don't expect people to adapt to you. Discussions about trailers and such will exist online. Get off the Internet if you're offended.

Lies!

They have not explained how every single gun in the Galaxy that is used was replaced by another model.

Because it is? I was wondering the same thing, actually. I think it's just symbolism or something.

Edit:

Over react much. I'm not "offended" (whatever that's supposed to mean). I was just pointing out that there was some content not warned about.

And btw, i do pretty well at avoiding content. I have adapted.

It's always shifting between blue and red depending on the camera angles and what part of the star is showing.

Also, in one of the trailers for the game, a BioWare dev specifically mentions the Illusive Man's eyes, noting that it's not supposed to be clear whether they're somesort of implant, biotic side-effect or something... else. The guys a sinister bastard no doubt and I can't bring myself to trust him no matter how many times I play the game (on my 3rd playthrough atm).

I don't know, i think it's just artistic in nature. Can we just agree on a few things though.

1) The Illusive man is awesome as a villain, and Martin Sheen did a wonderful job (personally i think better than the mark hamill joker stuff)

2)We all put our spare change into researching how to get eyes that look like his, as we would certainly spend the rest of eternity staring into mirrors.

3) We should all also put our spare change into the 'i want a office that has a cool sun thing out the window too' project.

Agreed?

I think I can agree to that, where do I sign?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's some sort of Virtual Reality enviroment thing. I did notice the colour changing thing, particularly depending on your choice at the end...
However it doesn't appear to have an special significance. It's not like the Illusive Man needs to see your Morals when he can figure it out from the constant information he recieves about you. It's probably an aesthetic thing that Bioware decided to link to your Paragon/Renegade rating for the hell of it, just to confuse us.
I don't see it being significant to the plot. And I stake my very limited reputation on that!

Mine was blue and I was a Paragon. Do we have our answer?
A better question is: Why are President Josiah Bartlett's eyes so freaky?
