What is this Quantcast privacy settings thing at the bottom of the Escapist now?

So yeah, what is this Quantcast privacy settings thing at the bottom of the Escapist now? Exactly as the the title asked.

It only appears on the Escapist so it must be something to do with it but its been there for a few days now and I would have thought someone else would have brought it up before me.

Well Quantcast is an advertisement company that uses your cookies to target ad for you. So i presume its the settings about how deep into your history they can go and who they can sell that info to.

As for who sees it and who doesn't, I'm guessing some users have ad blocking plugins installed?

I think it's probably people in the EU get it, people outside don't.
