Besides the obsurdedly long times to connect and find a match thats not what I am speaking of.
What I am speaking of is matching players against other players of certain skill. It seems like its broken. Im an ok mk player who played a few matches online. 4 to be exact. Then suddenly I was matches by someone who was 71/1. Im 4/1.
What do you think happened to me during that match? How is that fair? It makes no sense. Like tossing nba players against some high schoolers.
There are clearly something not correct about the MKX matchmaking. Was it designed like that? What do you guys think?

I played a ton of Injustice online before MKX. And even in Injustice, the matchups were RARELY as lopsided as that. In MKX, the matchmaking seems to be very rough and nonsensical, almost like NRS didn't even test their own netkode before releasing the game.... in fact, I'm sure that's what happened.

You'd think with, what, millions of people? playing MKX online shortly after release, it wouldn't end up taking 3 minutes to find you a person to play against... and it seems like everyone I play against gets their internet connection through a burning bale of hay.

So to answer your question: Yes I have been matched with people who have played a hundred times more than I have, which happened rarely in Injustice. There's been several network stability patches already and there will likely be more, so it seems to be an ongoing process to fix.

The ui, the matchmaking, displaying unranked stats instead of ranked stats, it's all pretty bad, and I have no doubt it'll get a price reduction to 30 dollars in 8 months to help the community.

United States companies just can't handle ladders.

Oh well, it's an improvement over mk9. It's admitted into EVO and the gameplay itself is okay, so it's at least not overwhelmingly pathetic.
