You know, the creed? What makes a person awesome? Maybe you're a badass who's part of an order of badasses with similar goals. Or maybe you're a lone badass, and you've come up with a credo that explains who you are to others. Either way, you've got a Badass Creed, that sums up everything you are and what you believe in.

So, what is your's?

Mine is hte Gunslinger's Creed from the Dark Tower/Technically Every Stephen King book series.

<quote=Gunslinger's Creed>

I do not aim with my hand;
He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.

I do not shoot with my hand;
He who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.

I do not kill with my gun;
He who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart.

Damn.

Yeah, this one still gets me every time:

"You gotta be a good guy, Jesse. You gotta be like John Wayne: You don't take no s**t off fools, and you judge a person by what's in 'em, not how they look. And you do the right thing. You gotta be one of the good guys, son: 'Cause there's way too many of the bad."

"War breeds war, violence meets with more violence and force only brings force. To progress, one must go beyond acting without any thought or doubt." - Metro 2033, Kahn.

I may be quoting that wrong, it's been a long time since I last played Metro, but the message is the same.

The Bene Gesserit Litany from the Dune movie.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me."

I think there's a longer version in the books, but I've never read them.

"I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. A world without sin. [...] I'm not going to live there. There's no place for me there. [...] I'm a monster. What I do is evil. I have no illusions about it, but it must be done."

hell yeah!
also, Chiwetel Ejiofor is quite a versatile, good actor - i'd give him hate out of ten *wink-wink*

"Nobody has the right to take the life of another." and "LOVE AND PEACE!" I'm a big Trigun fan, but those messages are something I do my best to live by :D Vash and Rem are kinda heroes to me in the most real possible sense, as embarrassing as that is to admit about fictional characters.

Massive Dark Tower fan, and I'd probably have picked the same thing, but where's that picture from?

I like the old US army creed, about being a good example of the US army and the US in general. The current one is more just about being good at being a soldier.

"The strong must protect the weak, so that the weak may grow strong themselves,
And the strong, in turn, will grow mighty."

Some roleplay I was in from a chivalrous knight, fighting for a more altruistic world.

"Be Ashamed to Die Until You Have Won Some Victory for Humanity."
-Horace Mann

He was an education reformer in the early 1800's and did a great many things to change the US public educational system. The quote also became the motto for Anitoch College and ever since I learned about him it has always stuck with me.

"The first rule of being a Ninja is to do no harm. Unless you mean to do harm. Then do lots of harm!" - Splinter
Now obviously I'm not a Ninja but splinter said it best so lets use his quote cause he's awesome :p

I've been in more than a few fights and spent a long time studying how to fight. I think the most important lesson I've learned is that fighting is stupid.
Knowing how to fight is good but just because you can doesn?t mean you should however if they force you and there is no other option then end it quickly and painfully and never fight fair. Fair is 50/50 odds no better than a coin toss, you wouldn't bet your life on a coin toss now would you. I know I wouldn?t.

"The meaning of justice can change from one day to the next." - Big Boss

This can say a lot about life, not just Justice, even if it's just a snippet of the quote: Morality and the views of people around the world change so quickly in a relative sense. What was seen as okay last generation was not this generation, and as time goes by the morality and the view on what Justice itself actually is will change. Is justice to kill a man? Or is it to make him regret his life? Is it to heal a man who has done wrong?

It always changes.

'The Dude abides'- The Dude.

Y'know, shit happens, but it'll all be alright in the long run, just chill the fuck out. I tend to take The Dude's whole persona as the way to deal with people in general, people make far too much of a fuss over everything. I'd have picked an inspirational quote like everyone else, but I kinda find them a bit cheesy, not that I necessarily disagree. It's like, just my opinion, man, but I think people who are just a bit laid back and don't really give that much of a fuck are a lot more badass than people who go around spouting stupid quotes about things.

On a side note, 'Badass' Creed' sounds like a totally awesome game.

"Goodness without mercy"

Essentially a reminder that trying to be good and kind,does not mean you should let evil go unpunished.

Kind of an opposite "turn the other cheek"

"Who Dares Wins"

The only people who can even attempt to say they are more badass have the motto "Better to die than live a coward", no pressure.
