Want your opinion heard? Have questions for the staff? Now's your chance!

Every week, from Wednesday through Friday, staff will be dropping in and out of the thread to post responses to the question below and reply to yours. From there, feel free to keep the discussion going until next Wednesday when a new topic goes up. We may even respond over the weekend while we're playing Genre Wars [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/content/genrewars].

Consider this your chance to join us in some lively debating and hopefully good times. We can't wait to discuss.

This week's discussion topic is: What's your favorite favorite favorite gaming related collectible or piece of swag? Summon forth your best memories of Dragon Warrior maps and Illusion of Gaia pre-order t-shirts [http://www.gamesniped.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/illusion-of-gaia-snes-t-shirt-sealed-thumb.jpg].

I'm a fan of some of the t-shirts. I usually get let down by the stuff that i'll think would be cool like a real Pipboy, or a batarang

Ah now, I remember the stuff you used to get with the Ultima games, Ultima VII had a small coin-like thing, plus the cloth map of Britannia, Ultima VIII had a little pentagram and a map of Pagan.

The best part was these weren't collecters editions, just the regular box. You just don't tend to get that level of extras these days.

Ermm... I've got a De Blob figurine that came with the game. Since that's the only game related swag I own, that would be my favourite.

I once got a "Limited Edition Metal Gear Ac!d² Artwork Cell."
But I'm a fan of artbooks and just details on how the game came to be.

I love my force FX Lightsaber that is sitting on my desk right now. It's awesome. It has the extending/retracting light animations, and it's motion sensitive, so it makes all the noises.
Basically this:

...And yes, if you have to think that way, I guess it could be considered a double-entendre..

Working Designs' Lunar Silver Star Story Complete for the PS1. All that swag was awesome.

Allow me to provide some context for why I thought it was so great though. I had basically been wanting to play Lunar since I first heard about it from the moment it was released in 1993. The anime stylings and FMV cinemas were all very exotic and extremely appealing to me in 7th grade. Unfortunately, getting a Sega CD was pretty much out of the question, so I had to basically pine after the game until it was finally released in 1999.

Of course the irony is that by then the game felt pretty antiquated. Still, all the swag it came with was pretty cool, almost like a reparation on behalf of Working Designs for having kept this game from me for so long.

It wasn't really added to the game, but i printed and made a had cover book from a Black Shark manual :) It's about 500 pages, consists mainly of "how to fly" basics... It's just a cool thing to show to friends :)
